I completely understand things progress and that you are filming what inspires you and I love your videos, they always contain amazing content and I always tune in but man do I miss the days of no money challenges, sneaking into events and generally iffy shenanigans. Anyway, keep it up YNWA..... 🙌

Absolute awesome video Simon. It's really interesting to see this country thru the perspective of a "tourist" and not thru news and stuff. Hope to see u and bald collaboration in the near future again!

After coming back from Lebanon a few weeks ago where we were helping Syrian and Palestinian refugees. It's really eye opening what people have suffered in places like Syria, which the media just never show.

what are you talking about, they show it all the time. this is all thanks to assad and russia

It’s good to see a different perspective of these places like Syria as we get shown one side of it all the time by the British media. Great work Simon keep it up!

This Syrian person is with you as an interpreter. There is no doubt that he is not a civilian, but rather an element in the intelligence apparatus of Al-Assaad, and he is trying to change the facts in favor of Assad.

I didn't even think of this until I read what you wrote and now I have read it, you are 100% right. I was wondering before however, how on Earth did they manage to get visa's into Syria on normal British passports? You answered that question. Thank you.

I'd assume that to get a tour guide license in Syria you have to support Assad. He really does "bend" the facts, making it sound like every destroyed building is because of the rebels, and none because of pro Assad forces (Syrian army, Hezbollah, Russia)

@@tFighterPilot Absolutely true, and also we see images in which destruction can only occur with weapons such as aviation or huge missiles, not just guns and RPGs lol

Hi Simon I have been a longtime fan of your channel and I enjoyed all the content since the early travels and challenges. I really get the idea of how catchy and good content for KZbin this extreme type of video. And I am assuming that you are not oblivion to the whole conflicts regardless of how or why. But to present the country as a good destination to travel as if it’s available for whoever when millions of Syrian people can't go back fearing prosecutions and other consequences is undermining a lot of people minds who have been suffering in this conflict for over 10 years now. Unfortunately you are not the only one who are being encouraged with these ideas, only if you are facilitated by the regime you can move that freely, only by the regime approval you can film, please don’t be part in a bigger scheme where the regime is presenting the country as a valid destination for tourism after all the horrible things that have been to the people by this regime. I hope you get the chance to read this comment and once you are in a more free space I hope that you address the situation and not undermining the whole conflicts, presenting the situation as a black and while where anyone can just go there and have a good time. it’s not like this, unfortunately.

I don't believe that is entirely correct. Of course, many Syrians can't come back, but that's not a unique thing about Syria (this is in every government in the world). and secondly, yes, you can move that freely from Damascus to Homs / Aleppo / Latakia/ or anywhere in the country without facilitations from "the regime". Not only Simon's videos show this, but all other bloggers who traveled to Syria. I'm not a big fan of the regime either, but stop relating everything in the country with the regime! , he was describing Syria as it is, as a foreigner seeing it for the first time, and as a Syrian myself, I can say he has done a great and honest job!

Why do you guys refer to politics in every possible thing , just leave the man alone , he enjoyed his trip , loved the people and pretty much just had a good time, why making things bigger than what they really are ?
