Currently the Performance top trim with dual motors can be had in China for RMB 185000, I guess the Xiaomi SU7 has something to do with that price drop. I'm checking it out in a few days. I don't know. I'm not one that's very interested in screens but the overall interior seems nice, but rather like a Zeekr in many ways. The round knob and small buttons in the center console look like they came from Volvo's last generation (current SPA cars like XC90 and XC60). I'm not sure the purpose of this car is, unless it is to give a more China market upscale sedan. There is Zeekr and Lynk and Co. I think Volvo and Polestar have a different style and are more expensive plus they tend to tune their chassis firmly. But this seems fairly similar to the Zeekrs. I like the overall look of it.

It's really down to the owner. Chinese like to spend more time in their car and see it as a leisure space rather than simply a transportation tool. If you've got a PlayStation 5 at home you're not going to sit in your E8 doing that but if you go to a park and you're having a chill day, you might just have a couple of people sit and play games in the car, or while you charge given it's so fast.

@ChinaAuto couldn't find any sources online confirming your claim, and you don't show it. So again. I don't believe it before I see it. Saw that "5C" battery from CATL. It peaks at more than 700A, when the CCS standard only allows 500A for a short period of time. This means at around 750V (what seems to be max voltage of this battery) it would peak at 375kW and "only" 3,6C. Still very impressive, but far for 5C. After a few minutes the amperage would drop to 400A which means 300kW, still very good. But far from the actual claims.

Haha, it has become a bit mad. Some are over the top. This I quite like honestly. It looks really clean.

Tesla to me, an American, looks like the KMART Blue-Light special inside, and lacks switch-gear to pinch pennies. NO THANKS ELON.

Many feel the same. They do a lot very well, but they're fighting to keep up in other areas now.

Taillights are pretty much ripped off from Porsche. Interesting color choice doesn't quite work.

This pale yellow seems to have become a bit of a thing in China recently, also making its way onto the NIO ET5. I prefer full saturation though, like on the Zeekr 007. If you're going to be bold, go the whole way.

Wonder why they left Porsche. I believe Li Auto's chief designer is ex-Porsche too. He said he didn't want to design cars for old white men anymore.@user-rd9mb3js5q

Meanwhile... Volvo still puts a 9" center display in their 2024 (X)C40's Recharge and a 12.3" display in the upcoming EX30. I really wish they were a little bit less conservative and went all in on software features. Really want to keep supporting our economy by buying/leasing cars that are built in Europe, but these Chinese cars will be lightyears ahead in no time if they keep this up. Terrible color though 🙃.
@InsideChinaAuto9 ай бұрын
Volvo needs to up those screens sharpish. The ones in the C40 and XC40 do not cut it in 2024. Urgent refresh needed. 12 is OK, doesn't need to be over the top. Not sure I'd go portrait though.
@larsvaneynde42819 ай бұрын
@@InsideChinaAuto yeah portrait is great for navigation but that's about it. If I watch KZbin on it, I might as well watch on my phone as it's pretty much the same size. BYD has the best of both worlds with the rotating screen but I'd prefer this more integrated look. Also, my daughter would love the 'separate' passenger screen 🙂.

Can only say it was -5 and we had the 150kW charging version, and the charging was no problem. 44 minutes to go from about 32km to about 550km of range. Not sure about range itself as there was no odometer to be seen.

-5 is not something big especially if you hold car in garage before @@InsideChinaAuto
@InsideChinaAuto9 ай бұрын
@@Mr11ESSE111 Most places don't get colder than -5 for prolonged periods of time unless you're particularly far north. For the vast majority of average users, they'll be above that.

You could have fitted that child car seat faster if the backrest was facing forward man.

It is not an easy child sit to fit. There's a big plastic part right where you need to grab a strap that sits up against the backrest. Nightmare.
