Thousands of Moviegoers Plan 'Barbenheimer' Double Feature

The sugary pink doll comedy "Barbie" and the atomic bomb thriller "Oppenheimer" are upon us. Although the two movies could not be more different, thousands of moviegoers have already bought tickets to see both films on the same day. The double feature craze is being called "Barbenheimer." Now, many are wondering whether to watch "Barbie" or "Oppenheimer" first for their double movie feature. Inside Edition's Megan Alexander has more.

Definitely watch Oppenheimer first. Its really good and cillian Murphy's performance is a highlight, as for Barbie i wasn't entirely impressed with the plot. It's not terrible but I wanted more than just Barbie is a doll that wants to save her world and is kind ik that she is a doll but i rather see a Barbie that i can emphasize and relate to. Kids will love the movie though.

Gonna sandwich it all between, granted only probably finish the Oppenheimer top bun next week, since I already booked 70mm tickets at the local theater so I guess I might be driving two hours next week to see it on IMAX 15/70. Works out great, premier party (still questioning what Barbie/Oppenheimer themed snacks and cocktails would look like, so that'll be interesting), double feature and then a trip out of state the next week to see it on the big big screen.

Had Barbie ticket first, but way too hot during the day, so rescheduled to watch Barbie after Oppenheimer. I thought that was the better order to view the films. A lot more complexity and angles to unpacked after the 3-hour Oppenheimer film, but the screenings were both equally packed. Mission: Impossible will have a sizable 2nd week drop, which actually surprised me some. The map that offended Vietnam… it is not even to scale or accurate, so more publicity for Vietnam banning the film than the film makers trying to be subservient to the CCP/China.

There is also a difference. The two films on May 24th, 2024. The Garfield Movie & Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga were released on the same day. I saw Barbie and it was so boring. I didnt want to go see Oppenheimer either because it looked boring.
