We've all been in the situation of flying with a fussy child or sitting next to one on a plane. Just last week this mom got national attention when she was kicked off a United Airlines flight because her baby was crying. The Vancouver-bound plane carrying Canadian singer Sarah Blackwood and her son hadn't even taken off when the trouble began. Sarah admits little Sebastian was screaming loudly. #InsideEdition

@@hunacean it doesn’t necessarily, in this case if my child was behaving like that in a public space and I was unable to calm them down but I had an iPad on hand I too would probably utilise it. I have a grown son with autism, & when he was a baby & young one we had situations where we had to fly with him. Whether the mother has had her son diagnosed yet we don’t know, but this type of behavior is classic for most types of autism. She knows her son, just as I know mine, & I bet she anticipated this behavior (anything outside of their normal environment or routine is very scary & upsetting to the child) so I wonder WHY she didn’t do what we did? We anticipated problems & went to our pediatrician. We were going from NY to Seattle & needed him to SLEEP as much as possible. We were advised to put him in his car seat which is familiar & comforting & gave us a prescription for a strong sedative. It went great- both trips. We did have to buy him a seat, but it had to be done. He only cried on takeoff. The rest of it felt like a long car trip & after sleeping many hours he ate & played. I’m shocked the mother didn’t anticipate this. Sounds like she’s in denial. I’m sympathetic but she should have at least bought him a seat & put him in a car seat. As a passenger I would’ve lost my mind!

Noise pollution is a much bigger problem that people want to admit. Bad parenting too for that matter. If I were on that flight I would sue the airline not only for my ticket price but also for unusual pain and suffering. And I've never sued anyone before in my life. I was actually on a flight like this from Paris to Atlanta, Ga. The child was in the seat in front of us, and she roped her little brother into it too. At one point the yunger brother stopped, but the girls continued, having screamed and cried for literally 3 hours straight. The flight attendent came by more than once trying be polite, but also get the point across to stop screaming. Her father eventually took her to the bathroom, tired and exasperated, and asked her what she wanted. She screamd, "I DON'T KNOW!" The whole plane could hear her tantrum for the flight so far. Around 4 hours into the flight she stopped and I instantly fell asleep.

Surely the parent knew he’d be a nightmare? Some mild sedative would have settled him down for a while and given EVERYONE a break from him. He’s obviously hyperactive, ADHD, or just not disciplined. I’ve had my children fly long haul when they were young, and never would I have allowed this. It’s unfair to others.

I bribed an unaccompanied kid with a tube of Mentos. It was 2am and he was singing loudly and we still had 8 hours of flight time left. Me: 'Hey kid, you can have these Mentos if you stay quiet. And I'll give you more when we land. Do we have a deal?' We struck a bargain. We both honoured it. I handed over 2 more tubes when we reached HK. The other passengers enjoyed a quiet flight. No I get this. My sister has a 7 year old and 4 year old and the 4 year old can be so noisy. It's hard af being a mom. No matter what u do it's hard to make a screaming kid calm again. Sometimes you dont even know the root of the problem. Most of the time, trying to help solve the problem only makes the kid cry more. And imagine the mother. Tired of her kid, traveling, and hearing them all the time. The passengers only needed to hear 8 hours of that. I do not blame the mother.
