When BoTW was first shown in 2016 a small chunk of people were upset because the game was seemingly overhyped for something that 'looks unfinished' - now its '10 dollar more for the same game' and everyone is losing their minds as if an extra $10 justifies an outcry for a game that has already been show to contain new and interesting mechanics gameplay and story elements. If nintendo was truly shilling out an unfinished gameworld with the exact same elements then yeah I would be pissed too. I think people should've been more vocal about paying $60 for the new pokemon game that looked and worked like an unfinished steam greenlight product
@zcrawford81 Жыл бұрын
It's because they're asking for a price that their console doesn't justify. The original BOTW had performance issues unless you were playing docked, 6years later I'd imagine the new one is going to be nigh unplayable in handheld mode.

I just came to say that midnight suns is pretty fun, just a shame almost every unlock needs basically 2 unlocks. Cosmetics, unlock it so you can use in-game money to unlock. Upgrade moves, gotta get 2, pay for it with one of 3 different currencies then don't have space in deck. Decorate your room... Why? At the least it looks and plays well. However, price and dlc price and what you get...
@iamfuturetrunks Жыл бұрын
"Based on actual battles that actually took place.." "So here's this giant enemy crab" "Hit it's weak spot for massive damage" So I guess we wont be getting anymore good memes from E3 anymore. :P Also screw Nintendo their games rarely if ever go down in price, now they are bumping them up to $70. So now people should expect to see a 5-10 year old nintendo game still at $60-70 while a new console is already out. Since that's what I have seen like waiting till Super Mario Brothers Wii finally went down to $20 at walmart only to realize it was just the same old super mario brothers game with upgraded graphics and a few extra stuff thrown in. After waiting years for some first party games to drop in price. Good thing I didn't get a switch since still felt burned after finally getting a Wii only for Wii U to be released and hardly any fun games I enjoyed for Wii. Feel sorry for those people who bought the Wii U console only to have the switch hurry up and release making their buy feel even more of a rip off back then.

@@DANCERcow This, the price of games has not really changed for a long, long time but the costs of development have skyrocketed as games have become ever larger and more complex. @opts1112 Жыл бұрын
I think that marvel midnight suns was an ill advised product, firaxis, known for making stratgey and tactics games, decided they would try their hand at a marvel card-combat mixed with a dating sim. The cross pollination of CIV and Xcom Fans (strategy Game Fans) With MCU fans seems minimal. I was all ready to buy this game when i started hearing about the persona-esque dating sim stuff. I think that generally Firaxis is good at making games where players can create their own stories through game play. When tasked with adapting a game with these characters they did make good game play, but it is a premise that leaves both sides out in the cold, old firaxis game enjoyers who don't want poorly written conversation to take up 50% of the game time, and the genral MCU enjoyer who might bounce off the idea of turn based combat.(or the dialogue, which is terrible even if you are a marvel fan) Midnight suns is one of the truly most confused games i've played, It tried to capture the hearts of MCU fans and firaxis fans and really did neither. I hope they learn from this mistake and give us a return to form on their next project. Firaxis is studio that excels in storytelling when they are NOT trying. This was not the team to pad 50% of the game with quippy marvel dialogue. Imagine if in civ 6 alexander the great had a schoolboy crush on cleopatra and the game made you sit through 20 hours of " OH geez" kind of dialogue helping him work up the courage to ask her out. Yeah... midnight suns has that exact scenario except using blade and captain marvel.

$70 is too much for a game anyway. I feel like &$60 is. $40 is about the most a video game can be worth in my eyes, and I love them! I've loved them since I was a kid. But gaming publishers/devs make too much money, abuse too many employees, are hostile to too many consumers, and are too invested in too many anti-social practices for me to even consider their price increases as justified. I don't trust them, and I don't trust anyone above the lower-middle-class income bracket to have any idea of what a "reasonable" price is for a consumer product. I don't play AAA games for lots of reasons but the justification for the price increase doesn't add up to me. They're charging more money for worse games and maybe inflation is a thing, but it's not that much of a thing, and even if it is? I'm still not doing it.
