Hoping on the Nexus 4, me too. I ordered mine over 6 weeks ago. I originally heard 2 months & would love to have it during my April vacation. When I test shot it I noticed that there was less torque when drawing back than like the CT-5. I've had to put the medical guaze on the grip due to cold so quite possibly that Aero-grip might be the best of 2 worlds. I've shot the Victory VAP TKO's with the Prime with heavy FOC & I've always been impressed with the lack of drop in speed & the penetration is incredible. I ordered mine with a Firstlite riser & Sitka limbs so we might have a full out insurrection on our hands.

Great review, looks like Prime tried to add improvements over the Black series, which is nice to see! I always have one or two screws on those cams back out the first 100 or so shots but they eventually settle or maybe I just tighten to the right spot and have no issues afterwards.

The 2 and 4 really have my attention. Nice speeds out of that platform. Wish they had more dealers though. It is interesting to see Hoyt go to a binary cam, the new riser reminds me of the old Factor a bit.

Hey Kellen, love you content! Great info. I just got back into bow hunting and purchased a Quest Thrive on ebay. It's in great condition and I tuned it with your help. I also got a deal on Victory RIP .204 elite arrows. They're 400s. Now, I only have a 27" draw with a 55lb draw weight. So I'm using the 60 gram inserts with 125 gram points. These specs look OK on the Victory spine calculator, does this sound good to you? Also according to my EX V sight insert my arrow speed is around 270 fps. I feel like this set up is fine from my shooting so far, but I'd really like your opinion. Thanks, Dom
@InsideOutPrecision4 жыл бұрын
That much weight up front might make them a little weak depending on how long the arrow is. Probably okay at 55lbs, but if you go up in draw weight I'd decrease the point weight to a 100 grain point
@DomRovito4 жыл бұрын
@@InsideOutPrecision Thanks for the reply Kellen. I cut the arrows to 27" with the insert they're 27.5. What would indicate that I need to reduce the tip weight.

Hi, i have a Prime Logic 9. I wonder if there's a portable bowpress for that. My Bowmaster don't fit, because the width of the hooks are too small. The width of the cams is 1 inch, and the hooks are about 2 cm or 0,78 inch. I saw a video on You Tube and the Synunm bowpress. What do you think about it ?

Hello great video, Im a subscriber with xl/LD 33" PLEASE make a video comparison mathews atlus vs pse nxt 35 xl/LD AT 70lbs at max draw length. I shoot beaman ics arrows at 420 grains at 302 fps looking. Looking to replace my Hoyt Cybertec because its to short. But for the money these bows seem to be slow. Please i need real number, Thank you. That Prime has the speed.
@pythonithon59164 жыл бұрын
Really? 302 fps with 420 gr arrows is too slow for you? Most people don't break 280 fps with their setups. 302 fps with your arrows is freaking fast. Not to mention your super long draw will help.
@anthonymcknight94624 жыл бұрын
@@pythonithon5916 Hello and no, you misunderstood. My Hoyt is faster than the new bows for that reason I am asking for real numbers. Also my bow max draw is 31.5. Therefore I shot a long D-loop and I'm shooting from the wall with no valley. wicked hand torque and front shoulder is jammed up . But I still make it work.
@pythonithon59164 жыл бұрын
@@anthonymcknight9462 Sorry. I typed your specs for a 350 ibo Mathews Atlas into a speed calculator. At 350 ibo, 33 inch draw, 70 lbs, 420 grs, and 20 grains on the string, you would be shooting around 350 fps. With that speed you could make your arrow around 450-500 grs and still have it blazing fast with some more punch if you are a hunter.

What do the 4 cams do better than 2?
@DaveGme4 жыл бұрын
There are two parallel cams. They are one piece. They keep the string in the center of the bow.
@logansayre85214 жыл бұрын
It completely eliminates cam lean (like you'll find commonly on the big cam matthews)
@logansayre85214 жыл бұрын
They come with shims (as matthews comes with "top hats") in order to tune for lateral tearing, not cam lean. Cam lean can and does happen with larger single track cams such as matthews. You can fanboy whatever brand you want, but it doesn't mean they have flawless designs. Primes are not at all perfect but they have some innovative and effective design features that many fanboys could benefit from if they would stop drooling over the 4th iteration of nearly the exact same design that keeps getting price markups year after year.
@logansayre85214 жыл бұрын
Also if you bade what bow you're buying solely off of magazine tests then it makes perfect sense that you would worship matthews
@sharpshooter76864 жыл бұрын
@John Coffey I don't think there's a company that can build a bow quieter than a Mathews right now, but a few are getting close. I can't speak for the VXR because I don't have one, but my Vertix shot a slightly tail high tear out of the box after setting the center shot at 13/16. Primes imo are great bows, sure they're not as quiet and vibration free as Mathews but they're tack drivers to say the least. If I hadn't bought a Mathews, I would've bought a Prime just by how it held on target and shot. I agree with Logan, you can't base your purchasing decision based on reviews from magazines and websites. Go out and shoot it yourself.
