I love my Logic.. What caught my eye was the logical reasons for why they do what they do ironically enough. Also 2 cams side by side just looks balanced to me.. Really itching for this bow though, idk is i want the 2 or the 4 though.. ugh.. Prime dealers are far from me..

The search is over...I was sold only after 2 shots....today, February 6th. I watched & subscribed a month ago. Today I ordered the Nexus 4 with the First Lite riser & Sitka Elevated II limbs. The extra $50 custom charge with 65 lb. limbs I hope will get me the bow sooner than later. I own a Centergy & a Logic CT-5 so after 2 shots I knew it was an upgrade over the generation I Black series. I had some shoulder issues starting in 2019 which forced me to switch jobs which took care of that problem. I had a slight twang with the CT-5 which I shot a 515 grain arrow out of. In 2020 I hunted with my Centergy successfully with a 570 grain upgraded micro arrow setup which adopted the Valkyrie system. The Nexus 4 with the 570 grain arrow was very quiet like the Centergy & that was w/o a stabilizer. I will chrono the custom bow when it comes in @ 62 lbs. with that arrow along with some new shafts I am going to make from scratch between now & then & will report back on the results. The new grip is fantastic & the large loops on top & bottom are not an issue when it comes to my sight window. The draw cycle is so smooth & the bow is so efficient that it leaves u scratching your head. I agree that Prime made more than modest changes in 2021 unlike other bow companies that just seemed willing to tweak a little & offer shorter bows as their selling point. The draw cycle of the bow was what I expected & it was similar to an Evolve that I used to shoot but the Nexus 4 just holds on the target like the other Prime's do. The grip on the Evolve was always an issue for me & it never has been with the Prime grip I would say is 2nd to none.

I like that u r toughing it out shooting wrong handed. Welcome to the Covid era. When it comes down to it it's all about the efficiency & accuracy. I ordered it cuz of the grip & smooth draw. Loved a bow draw cycle on a bow 3 years ago but I couldn't shoot it as accurate & consistently as a Prime. I like it when a company does many changes to achieve a goal. I believe Prime has achieved this with the Nexus 4

Love your content. Could you talk more about the draw cycle in your bow reviews? I know it’s challenging since most of the time you need to shoot a RH bow, but draw cycle is one of the most important factors to me while speed doesn’t play as big a role.

People that don't even like primes say they are one of the smoothest drawing bows. I've heard from multiple people that "if I knew the Nexus was going to be this smooth and easy to pull, I would have ordered 80# limbs"

I have my Nexus 4 @ centershot & bare shaft tuned it. Micro arrows r really burying themselves into a hard target. It does as u suggested. A slight right tear I'm saying that's about 3/8". The same 3 bare shafts I fletched & they did the same. No shims were put in since the shop was closing for good. Looks like it will open sometime in July @ a new location. I'm confident it would shoot perfect if it had the large shims to the left. I'm not basing this on just paper but the history I have with these arrow builds that take time. Looks like I'm going to have to find a guy good with a press to swap them in for me. Just want it to be right on b4 shooting 3D targets from a 🌳.

Love the channel! Think this might be the the bow for me this year. I have 31” DL, any tips for making that work with this bow besides just longer d loop?
@josephtreadlightly56863 жыл бұрын
Hey Joshua, I found when I setup my Centergy that it is all about your anchor point. A forgiving d-loop that is of better quality material is needed. Order some BCY braided spectra loop rope #23. I ordered mine from Lancaster & u don't have to buy a whole spool. U can order it by the feet. It is 1.6mm & tougher as well as being more forgiving. I found while saddle hunting last year that I was able to draw & anchor much better by using a d-loop that was 7/8" to 1 1/16" on my other bow that had no draw length adjustment on the cam & it was short with the standard & stiff polyester d-loop material. To every advantage is a setback which means it is a little tougher to melt the ball on each end of the d-loop. That is why bowshops don't do it cuz of the volume they have to put out b4 the season. During the off-season they should be able to help u out if they have good techs. I was able to get over the hump with the learning curve @ home. The pro-archers out there have been using this for a while & they shoot alot more daily than most of us. It saved me along with a nice set of Easton d-loop pliers. I 1st got my centershot on the string the way I wanted it. Then with that longer loop I went a little higher & lower than the arrow that was nocked on my string so the longer d-loop didn't have as much pinch on my release. Then after getting the d-loop on the string I re-enforced it with some BCY .008 serving that I wrapped with 1 piece on the top above & below & I did the same with another piece on the bottom of the d-loop. It is rock solid & forgiving & won't need to be replaced until I need a new string. This isn't as tough as it seems but u can make it tough by thinking that a bowshop has this & is willing to do it for u in August or September. 1 thing I have learned during the pandemic is that u need to prepare months ahead to achieve the results u r looking for. Good luck.

Prime are solid bows, but I find it funny all it the “technology” that goes in to the bows. I robinhood as many arrows with my old pse stinger as I do with my Mathews no cam and my elite hunter , my bear status , more than my obsession and more than my diamond they are all top notch nowadays shoot what you like
@stasiekspasiek72503 жыл бұрын
Its way under IBO. 306fps/28" is close to 380gr arrow, not 360gr ( 315fps for that)
@Buran013 жыл бұрын
Well, the Mathews Atlas which is rated 350 IBO "at 34" dl" is in reality ~308 IBO at 30" dl with 85% let off and ~312 IBO at 30" with 80% let off. The brand which was more honest with their IBO rating was PSE last year (this one they returned to the usual bs). To be honest: don't bother with IBO; speeds are (have been) the same for years and the only way to produce more speed is either making the power stroke larger (but dl is a limiting factor based on the wingspan of the archer) reducing the bh or making a bow with a really harsh draw cycle which most wouldn't want to use.
@josephtreadlightly56863 жыл бұрын
I'm most interested on the reports that people took the cable guard off to quiet it down. Isn't that Prime cable guard put on there for tuning? If so what cable guard r they replacing it with? When a bow has a large range in draw lengths. Doesnt that take away from the speed and poundage on a shorter draw length guy??
@Buran013 жыл бұрын
The # are the same, but since youre shortening the power stroke (the travel of the arrow from the wall to the point in which the nock leaves the string) the speed and kinetic energy is reduced. But the draw cycle becomes usually smoother.

Not sure why one would want a bow that straight out of the box needs to be shimmed ?
@suffs47303 жыл бұрын
Every bow after a few shots is going to have some string stretch and require a little bit of tuning. The only way to negate that is putting GAS strings on right when you get the bow. The shim problem on primes really isn’t that big of a deal, especially for how nice they shoot, and i’m saying that while not even shooting a prime. I shoot a Hoyt...
@jerryweatherman74683 жыл бұрын
What I was referring to was , if practically all the new Prime bows need shimmed.....why doesn't Prime get the bows closer to spot on BEFORE they ship them to their Pro shops. I've worked in local Pro shops since the 1980's . I do agree that Prime has came a LONG WAY since we first started getting them in.

I agree that ALL bows need to be tuned to each individual....but not ALL bows need to be shimmed right out of the box. You obviously got butt sore and wanted to argue and I'm not into that....so your right....I'm WRONG. Are you happy now Rusty !!! END of conversation 🙄

I’m trying to decide between a Prime Nexus 4 or a new Hoyt Ventum 33; any recommendations? I can’t shoot them back to back to compare because it’s two different shops that have them. I’m a 29.5” draw and usually pull 70#, I hunt up north so the insulated grip would be great for cold sits but it’s not a deal breaker to have a cold hand with the Ventum 33 if it shoots better than the Nexus.
@leelathrop95393 жыл бұрын
How often do people hold onto their bows where the grip material is gonnn make a difference? I hunt in Wisconsin and have never had a issue with a aluminum bow and it’s grip. I shot the Ventum33 and it’s awesome. I haven’t shot the prime and don’t plan on it as there are no dealers close to me. Another thing you should consider is resale. If you get a new bow every couple years. You’ll pretty much have to give the prime away. The Hoyt will have a much better resale.
