One of the small chains in the UK worth mentioning is Allen's. They seem to mainly be around the Manchester area now. But it was founded by Ray Allen, the guy who brought KFC to the UK and opened the first KFC outside of the US. He created Allen's thinking a home-grown brand would work well in the UK. KFC notoriously changed their recipe. I wouldn't be too surprised if Allen's is closer to the original. The chicken is certainly better, imo!

Costco in the UK also do a double chicken sandwich, although it’s not great. Slim chickens is another great UK one that seems to be popping up everywhere and their chicken is amazing

The chicken breast sandwich at Supermacs (Irish fast food restaurant with one restaurant in Northern Ireland so technically UK) is fantastic. A succulent piece of fresh Irish chicken with a good bit of sauce. Highly recommended.

Here in the US Burger King recently had "International Chicken Sandwiches", variants of the Original Chicken Sandwich in American (tomato and yellow cheese), Mexican (spicy queso and jalapeno), and Italian (mozzarella & marinara) variants. We also recently started calling McDonald's Chicken the McCrispy. In fact, that happened while I was on vacation in Australia who call them the McCrispy. Also, we have two other chains in the US not seen in this video, Sonic Drive-In and (again, depending on where you live) Checker's & Rally's.

Just have to say the best is the POPEYES BETA CHICKEN SANDWICH. Yes thats right, there was a beta test of the chicken sandwiches. Before they were available to the public it went though a few changes. I am lucky enough to know owners of a franchise. Every day he would let me try one, I filled a bag and brought them to my closest friends before release So the original popeyes beta chicken sandwich! Brought me to tears. The chicken piece on the inside was MUCH larger (yeah I know it's chonky now but was way bigger), the bun totally different and the pickles were better and thicker. The spicy version got spice from the chicken patty itself! Then as release date kept getting closer they skimped to the smaller chicken piece and the bun and pickles changed. Lastly the spice got changed to come from the spicy mayo to simplify the patties to just one needed. So to anyone lucky enough to have tried the beta edition before the public like me, then you know. To those that didn't just know it was like 10x better than the one your getting. And I can never have another one again

Appreciate this chicken sandwich comparo, especially since the options here are stark (only Wendys, BK and McDs) and our KFC has yet to reopen. I tried buying Tyson's frozen version of chicken sandwich but it was awful. I can tell when chicken sandwiches taste "generic" or low quality.

Abysmal offerings at KFC, McDonalds and Burger King in the UK and USA. In Australia we have 8 (+2 wraps), 6 (+3 wraps) and 10 chicken burgers (sandwiches) respectively. Carl's Jr. is about the same as the USA with 5 burgers (although not the same flavours).

Joe. Joe. Joe. If you don't live in a metropolitan area, then you live in the burbs or you live in the STICKS. I cannot for the LIFE of me get a consistently hot, or crispy, or COOKED chicken sandwich from a SINGLE chain in my area. Except.... Chick-fil-a. They are consistent. I'll give them that, and therefore reliable when my ass doesn't want to cook. It's there, and it's pricey, but it's CONSISTENT. It's always a 7.3/10 experience (down to the self-flagellating guilt trip I get when the employee chirps, "My pleasure!"), and that's why Middle/Armpits of America love CFA. I can't rely on a Wendy's or a BK or LOL a KFC (Our local KFC is known for having more roaches in the proteins than chicken), but 6 days a week, Chick-fil-a is MEH, and it's THERE. :) Hope that helps your exasperation.
