The problem with Dominoes UK prices is they are always on offer with a different offer every day of the week (usually buy one get one free or free size upgrade from small to medium or Large) and the offer differs between in store collection and delivery orders and the so base price is essentially meaningless. Ive been saying for years they need to simplify the price structure

@DarkCobra8816 күн бұрын
Yeah, though i honestly hate this type of marketing though, kind of sucks as if you just want a pizza you are stuck between either BOGOF or the half-price... if collected, I'm not lazy but i used to order Domino's at work and have it delivered, i didn't start my lunch until it arrived and back then, free delivery meant it was okay value, now its pay for delivery, can't eat 2 and before i used to have someone who we would go halves and have one each so i end up putting it in the fridge which isn't ideal... it just isn't worth it now.
@alexia372916 күн бұрын
yeah i noticed that recently, you cant go off the base price since there's never ending offers. especially the "large medium small pizza" for like £8, £10 whatever they just need to change their base prices honestly
@beckybookreviews782016 күн бұрын
It is annoying too that online they automatically apply a deal which you may not want. So at the moment, a medium pizza is £10 and let's say you want a starter that is £6. That comes to £16 but when you put those in your basket online, it brings it up as an offer where the total is higher than £20 and you can't refuse the offer. They only way you could get them at the cheaper price if you do two transactions, but that will mean paying delivery charge twice, which, of course, is ridiculous. The "turn deal wizard off" means you get the RRP price which means your basket then jumps to £30
@bennyceca15 күн бұрын

It's all a marketing tactic. Your average person isn't eating takeaway pizza every day, so when the occasion arises, you search for Dominoes or Pizza Hut and see "OFFER: 2 x large pizzas for only £15.99!!" to make people think they're getting a deal.
@MostlyPennyCat12 күн бұрын

@christopheroliver876213 күн бұрын
2:30 important to note that in the UK, the price includes the sales tax. In addition, the UK doesn't have a very strong tipping culture. There is no expectation of tipping by the driver, and the vast majority of people don't tip. (although often people may give them a pound if they're feeling generous). So the US price is $19.99 for a large, plus sales taxes, plus tips. In the UK, its £21.99 ($26.88) for a large, all in

Dominoes at least here in Northern Ireland has done a "Price Slice" where there's "Deals" on that cut the price of pizza in half....during the week. Yes you're paying £24.99 for a large as soon as friday hits but if that pizza is yours on say, a tuesday, it's £12. And despite claiming it to be temporary, it's been almost 2 years now i think and it hasn't changed.

To Joe: I am one of the people that prioritizes the sandwiches over the pizza. Why? The Italian sandwich is everything I could want from a Pizza without having a massive pizza, plus a couple things extra. I, myself, am not going to eat an entire pizza myself or even more than 1 or 2 slices. It sits in the fridge or my husband eats it after the fact. The sandwich is just enough for me to have and still be satisfied enough. And for 6.99 as part of their 2 or more deal, my husband can get a medium pizza for himself and I get a sandwich. Now, my question is : why do people go to Domino's for the pastas when you can get something similar elsewhere? Probably the same reason I do for sandwiches.

100% same here. I refuse to pay for something like this from domino's, whilst they generally are nice pizza's, £20+ for a medium sized one is a joke, my local does buy one get one free for £12 for 12" or 3x 12" pizza's for £20 (create your own 4 topping, £18 if you don't want to make your own). It's ironic a small place can effectively do decent sized pizza for what works out as a fiver whilst domino's and other big points want £20+. We got a Domino's last year, my dad went into hospital for a risky surgery, waited until 11pm to get the good news, we had nothing to eat and nowhere was open but Domino's was, we bit out lips and ordered a "deal" for £40, 3 large pizza's, 3 sides, 1 2L bottle of drink and some cookies, expensive but we just wanted a meal brought to us. The pizza's was burnt and the same meal now costs £50 (£10 price hike in 8 months). Just a joke of a chain, high prices, no quality control and no justification for charging 20 per pizza.

It's so annoying to me how these fast food pizza chains love to act like they're "innovative" by doing these creations or none pizza items that aren't even that good or that original. Meanwhile they can barely do the pizza itself that well. Lose all the goofy stuff and let's focus on nailing down some good pizzas first. Outside of the Pizza, doing wings and some bread sticks or something simple, fine. Why do we need sandwiches or the other stuff though? Also pasta. I LOVE Pasta, but I hate that these chains try it. They never do it well. It always has to be super low quality to make it affordable to their menu price range but it just results in a tragedy of a pasta.

Also, parmesan (not the cheese) where I'm from, is a delicious piece of pork or chicken in bread crumbs topped with a nice thick layer of béchamel sauce and then cheese on top baked till it's caramelised. Local delicacy and it's truly delectable. This chicken parm thing from America doesn't even sound like it can compete.

Domino's Pizza in the UK uses a marketing tactic to make people think they're getting a good deal, by inflating their prices. The full price pizzas are always inflated. Even employees in most stores are specifically told not to sell pizzas at the full price. You can get pizzas for the same "discount" price every day, they just have different names for their deals every few days but ultimately it's basically exactly the same. The "never ending offers" is just a marketing ploy. That's the actual regular price of the pizzas, they just deliberately inflate the "deal-less" price as a way to trick a customer's mind. Collecting Pizzas in store we have access to "50% off" coupons every single day, and we never actually sell pizzas at the inflated so-called full price. The only people that do are the customers who are clueless and don't properly find out the coupon to use.

Visually, those UK pizzas look terrible and it's even worse that they cost more

Please compare Dave’s Hot Chicken in the UK & US in your next Food Wars episode. As they are now open in London & I really want to see Harry & Joe compete to see who can eat a Reaper tender first!

Maybe it's just the Domino's in NY, but the tomato sauce has changed and is awful to me. I have to order pizza with BBQ sauce on the pie as a substitute, because at least the BBQ makes the dough taste edible. And you're right, the chicken parm sandwich is truly a disgrace. especially, when shrinkflation hit, and it only has like 6 diced pieces of chicken. =/ The Pasta at least is better than the sandwiches in my experience.

This is incredibly dependent on the state in the US as well...
