Below the pictures there is a button "yardage " that opens up the fabric info

Hey there. You may have already discovered, but the back of the pattern info was under a tab labeled “yardage,” and there was also a tab labeled “sizing.” You had to click on them to open that information, but it was all there.

I checked out the website and it looks like since the video was made, McCalls added a "Yardage" tab right next to the "Line art" tab below the scrolling left menu.

I do love that wrap shirtdress, so cool, I’ll be getting that pattern for sure! And the cute rouched top and dress too, very on trend. The jumpsuit is a possibility if I had time and a reason to make another jumpsuit. That accessories pattern seems to be a compromise where they wanted to feature the skirt, but it wasn’t enough for a pattern on it’s own, so they stuck it in with a random top and some accessories. I do like the bags in that pattern envelope, so that one is an actual maybe! Thanks for the review, I think McCalls folks must listen in and make corrections from your comments, as the “yardage” tab suddenly appeared after your review! Nice work!

No envelope back?!?! Nooooooo! I have noticed lots of dresses that belt and pay no attention to the waist seam this year. Thank you, Lindsey.

Definitely an '00s alternative style collection on that Accessories pack. I think I had most of those pieces as a middle schoolers in the early naughts. A take on the Y2K trend!

Love 8286, top reminds me of Kate Middleton’s yellow jubilee dress. Great base for my next Frankenstein pattern.

Wow! Three First Impressions videos in one week - love it! Kind of Meh about these designs - nothing I really love or hate. Maybe the last set is a grunge costume? My daughter used two different coloured plaid shirts from the thrift store buttoned together to make a button front skirt. So original and cool. Thanks sew much for another excellent video.

Thnx for putting this together and going thru these patterns so we don't have to, but I'll pass on this collection.

I'm not feeling any of them. However, i would love to see you make the ruched top. It is pretty just not for big busted me.

I like that shirtdress with the wrap, too! I have jotted that one down 😁 You've probably already done this by now, but you didn't click on the "size chart" link that was next to the size options. I haven't myself yet, but hoping that maybe they're full screen, (and maybe have finished measurements) and I would hope that the notions, lining and yardage info would be there as well. I'm with you on the costume-y "Accessories" - but they all look like items that could be made with thrifted pieces. ?? Maybe it's in the description. Great review 😁

Enjoyed the video, Lindsey! I am flabbergasted that they did not include the back of the pattern. I certainly hope it was an oversight. So much valuable info on the back, I could not make an informed decision without it. I am also a bit confused as to why they have put out more Spring patterns when we are well into summer. Should we expect Summer patterns to follow? I hope so. I loved M8282 with the ruching. I will definitely get that one. Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them so much.

I really hope it's just because the patterns are so new they haven't got around to uploading them yet? I never buy patterns online if I can't see that information, so fingers crossed it's not just how they're doing things going forward.

I think that last one is like a 90s grunge look starter kit? I get what they were going for but it would have been cooler if they'd left out the clothes and made an accessories pack.

1st and 3rd patterns are a yes for me. Thanks as always for the review. I actually like a yoke as I feel like it helps flatten my tummy but all those gathers on the pants and shorts are a DEFINITE no! 🤣

So, I just watched your McCall’s review. I think the back pattern info was a glitch the day you recorded this vlog.

Love you're reviews! 😊 I just messaged them! Weren't they supposed to have an extended size range as Mimi G said on IG awhile ago!?? There were only 2 and they didn't show any sizes for those! Very confusing! The patterns look pretty good it's just ashamed they didn't put all the information on the website!

Thank you for your fast turnaround!! Those M8292 wide legged pants in dark blue remind me of fancy JNCOs 😂 Edit: also forgot to say, the stuffies look like knock off tsum tsums- Disney characters shaped like pills with no limbs. But really there is some cute stuff. The tiered shirt dress is nice. The grunge faux tied shirt skirt is really cute!

Three of these from Spring McCall's are on my shopping list. M8284 Dress w/tux collar reminds me of 1980s. I can easily vision a long soft scarf styled underneath the collar. Feels more like an early Fall and Winter dress. I could see that in a wool blend suiting. Thank you, Lindsay. ~ L

The twisting into her bottom that you noticed on those pants seems more like photoshop than how the fabric actually behaves

Omitting the back of the pattern envelope also eliminated fabric recommendations. The new company seems to still not understand what sewing is about. They have owned our beloved pattern companies long enough now that they should have learned a few things about what their customers need. They need to get their sh*t together.

I have been moving to indie only for awhile now but I would refuse to buy a pattern without an online back of envelope information. When I go to the store to buy fabric and notions, I pull up my pattern on my phone from the website and that is how I buy my stuff. If I find a cute fabric at the store and want to make a different view of something I made before then I need a new list of yardage and possibly notions (like button counts). This change would render the pattern useless to me as I couldn't look up information over it when I don't have it with me.
@lorieburtt5922 жыл бұрын
@@meaganstratton1733 I emailed the company this morning with this question/complaint. I encourage everyone to do so, otherwise they won’t know how much this affects us. They clearly have no employees who sew.

There are a couple nice dresses in this collection. HOWEVER, where is the envelope back? So much important information on the back. Won’t be buying any McCalls pattern in the future if this continues.
