Vince took advantage of how dedicated and loyal Mick was. The least he could have done is let him fly away from the stage on a sleigh with Santa. The fact that Mick had to argue with Vince to make this happen, proves my point.

Mick Foley was the SINGLE greatest performer of the attitude era and idgaf who you bring up; Rock, Austin, HHH. Only Mick could be so physically, mentally, and emotionally in tune with himself and dialed into his ring and crowd psychologically that he could breath life into three different characters plus the onscreen version of himself qnd make them all work in various promotions in various companies for his ENTIRE career. Not saying that it would've been particularly better than Vince vs. Shane was, but I believe that an actual match between Vince and Foley at WM17 that year could've sold itself very nicely. It still would've been a major attraction match, especially considering it would've been Mick's first match back in a WWE ring in a year.

But because he'd been retired the year before, and he took the stipulation too seriously... also, he thought him asking for his job back was unrealistic. He speaks about it on this channel... I think about 4/ 5 months ago.
