I still liked it cause it gave us closure on the Red lipstick faced demon and the original family. After watching the series again these films are dramas with scary scenes and not full blown horror =)

I liked this one actually cause it was good to see them all back again and I felt like the red faced demon looked sacrier in this one...more evolved. There will be another one from what I understood though the story is still unknown for the moment any way. It had good jump scares as well and the reason why the friend could see them was because the door was open and so they were seeping through into the real world like what happened in the first two movies. She broke up with Josh I think because she couldn't handle the fact that something with his face tried to kill her and her children and yes she knew it wasn't Josh but still it's not easy to handle and also because she couldn't look at him every day and see what he is going through knowing that she knows the truth about it all and he doesn't.

I think you forgot how the astral projection works. Remember in the Insidious 2, it was revealed that Josh was the one who broke into his own house in Insidious 1. So everything they did in the further could affect the reality. And Chris also could see those ghosts at the end because they crossed into the real world to take over Dalton’s body just like the third act of first chapter that those spirits tried to take Josh’s body.

Red Face used Dalton's body as a puppet in the first movie and now fully possessed his body in 5. The writing wasn't the best but they did cut out alot of callback scenes from the trailer I saw. I wish they did more with the Red Faced demon. But I am hoping for a sequel and maybe even bring back Jenna Ortega from the end of Insidious Chapter 2 or even bring back Quinn from Chapter 3.

Same, I liked the movie in a “Patrick wilson directed it and i liked the direction” but not in a scary movie way, it wasn’t scary enough imo I think I jumped a lil at the painting scene when the demon grabs daltons hand and that’s it lol I did like how they brought up the fact that Renée had to live with the trauma of “josh” almost killing her and the kids

I saw this in the theatre and actually really like it. Not scary but great closure. I will say though that the art teacher - if she had told me to tear up a drawing I would tell her where she could stick it.

I really don't think that the end is that simple.... I think Josh stay behind the Red Door (sealed by Dalton) and he come back as a ghost or entity, his family and loved ones continue to see him (because they already are sensible to those things). But I wonder if Josh hasn't always be possessed since his childhood... if he isn't in fact the red demon of the family. At the end the whole family find themselves seems freed from a burden and himself too, so I think he doesn't really come back ! I can't believe the only solution to defeating the red demon was to paint the door... in fact I think Josh bring the demon that is inside him in the Further AND then Dalton seal the door. .. Which would also make sense with the credits song. I believe the song Stay is the key. Patrick Wilson said that it intended to be Josh singing that song to his son. The sentence "this ends with me", the lantern and the last painting make me think about Josh as "the traveler of the Further", and how hard he had fight his hole life that demon while trying to protect the family. He's always looking for bringing his son back to the real life. And now he become a sort of protector/guardian of the lost ones in the Further, like Jack-o'-lantern (Josh-o'-lantern) !!! 🥺😅But this is my interpretation of the end... I have a lot of imagination ! 💁‍♀

This movie is unnecessary, because it is nonsense, now the devil no longer appears in his dimension, now he comes out through paintings, and what Dalton says to Josh, to get over what happened to his father, that is, Dalton's grandfather Dalton, and then Dalton himself can't get over what happened to Josh and his mom.

I couldn't stand any of the college kids, ruined it. Turned it not a teen movie. cringe, and the vomit stuff not scary just gross.
