Must admit,like this 'edited' version,i always thought that middle section was a tad long!

The audio (mic or DI) has to be right on to pickup all the nuances in Andy's compositions and it seems a lot of times its lacking.
@JoshuaConnorMusic10 жыл бұрын
It's a shame that the mic isn't very good for recording guitar, cause this is probably his best performance of this song, with a guitar much more suited for it.

Andy's best song imo. The ending was a little abrupt here though.

you will not see more patience then that of a true guitarist... all hacks rush... blow out of tempo on key or not... when you flow with your instrument it's unparalleled

That guitar is worth at least $15,000.
@JoshuaConnorMusic10 жыл бұрын
More like $20,000+ starting price.
@Rael050510 жыл бұрын
***** The base price of a Greenfield guitar is $14,500. Although with all the bells and whistles you can choose from, a Greenfield could go above $20,000.
@JoshuaConnorMusic10 жыл бұрын
Rael0505 That's what I meant. The models Andy gets have lots of bells and whistles, fanned frets, sound ports, bevels etc. Though I believe he has a few standard model GFs as well, so he probably has a few worth around $15,000.
@HQDivinity10 жыл бұрын

A genious like Andy makes the guitars he plays on unvaluable.
@christopherdiodato18210 жыл бұрын
what type of guitar is it that he plays with that looks like it has slanted fret boards
@TheRayBanRebel10 жыл бұрын
its a greenfield fanned fret
@christopherdiodato18210 жыл бұрын
is it supposed to give an advantage somehow in playing? I've never seen one like that before his videos and some of the other solos
@JoshuaConnorMusic10 жыл бұрын
Christopher Diodato As I said before it helps greatly with intonation and string tension. Other than that Andy has said that it's not really that noticeable while playing.
@TheRayBanRebel10 жыл бұрын
the way its the bridge and the nut are angled supposedly helps keep it more in tune the further down the fret you go and the frets angled also kinda can help with playing it a little bit, but i cant say for sure because i never played one
@ChristopherFryerblurb10 жыл бұрын
***** you can play a great gwittar in the classic form v.v.neat stuff congratulations

Does anyone know where he got that capo from???
@ApolloBows10 жыл бұрын
It's called a partial capo and it can be bought at nearly any guitar shop c:
@bobshan20359 жыл бұрын
Exo Genesis Shubb capo*
@ApolloBows9 жыл бұрын
Bob Shan *Partial Capo it can be called either.
@bobshan20359 жыл бұрын
Lmfao look up any interview with Andy asking him what kind of capo he uses on this song. Yes, it can be referred to as a 'partial capo', but the correct term is a shubb capo - made for banjos but often used by fingerstyle guitarists if they don't want to cover all the strings.
@ApolloBows9 жыл бұрын
Bob Shan Either term is fine then
@SeanMCMLXVI9 жыл бұрын
i just realized he plays with his fingerpads, and not nails, except for thumb anyway ... he may have really short fingernails though
@AKIRA-dn2zn6 жыл бұрын
no compressor. effect.
@barbelfloat7 жыл бұрын
Very interesting how he only left his right thumb nail long while the rest of his right finger nails are cut. I guess he likes the soft "skin" tone rather than the tone the nail tone
@glennpennock74878 жыл бұрын
... his right hand technique is from a classical guitar perspective totally wrong (it will eventually really hurts his joints) , but I say... who cares if it delivers such a beautiful song! Bravo!
@johnhayes63098 жыл бұрын
+glenn pennock Right hand technique is fine, his finger roll back toward the palm of his hands beautifully......so what's your point?
@glennpennock74878 жыл бұрын
... his technique is fine, John, from a classical guitar perspective it is not (it is not the roll back, but in the classical guitar approach you do not support your attack of the strings with the pink on the wood, it will eventually block your wrist, and your thumb is not bending... it could really hurt him), but than I added 'who cares'; his music is beautiful, and that is far more important than my concern that he would hurt himself on the long term. I am a great admirer of his music.
@johnhayes63098 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying, I guess the reason why I was never concerned with Andy's right-hand technique is because I always have thought his looks rather good compared to some of these other solo acoustic artists! ha
@wenderlin10768 жыл бұрын
agree about the pinky finger!!! it's not effective but probably he is comfortable with it so yeah hahahaha this song is good though
@MickeyKraut4197 жыл бұрын
Who cares about the technique? it's not a classical piece, nor a classical guitar, nor is Andy a classical player... never understood why people have such an unhealthy obsession with bringing up absolutely unrelated tangents instead of enjoying the art in front of them...

I don't think Andy Mckee is struggling to get a girlfriend...
@NathanLanza10 жыл бұрын
Heh, he missed the entire middle section. Funny to see when he makes mistakes.
@tracenbradshaw84329 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that was intentional. A musician doesn't simply "miss" parts of their own songs.
@NathanLanza9 жыл бұрын
From 2:32 to 2:38 the part he is playing is repeated later in the song regularly. At 2:38 he starts plays the bass notes of the first part but accidentally skips to the second harmonic trio of the second part. I'm 100% sure it's a mistake. He skips forward instead of trying to fumble backwards to replay what he screwed up.
@wir89 жыл бұрын
Nathan Lanza And I'm curios, if it was a mistake, why did not they retake the clip? He probably does know when he does mistakes and also probably wouldn't want his works published like that.
