Dom usually doesn't consider the fact that some players just turn up internationally. He is quick to call Gumayusi bad whenever he is out of form, ignoring the fact that he was the best ad the last 2 worlds, and probably the 2nd best at 2021 Worlds. I agree with him, in the fact that people who only look at internationals and ignore the entire year is stupid but he takes it too far the other direction.

For Summer I hope they go one best of one round robin followed by a best of two round robin based on seeding from the first round robin. Consistent broadcast times, more games, no ties and a little bit of adaptation. Can prep the first draft, normal experience second draft. It ends up as a modified best of 3 by the end of the season.

I don't believe KC not having a lot of money right now means they're doing poorly. They build their own arena, bought a lec slot, some of this might have been on credit, have still running contracts with 3 players they don't wanna field. So not having the money to spend big right now seems reasonable. Also they need to place super high to make season finals and worst case they spend big, don't make season finals and have to pay big for the entire time till off season. And they want to field a different roster with calliste next year anyways

Going to disagree with the takes that esports doesn't need music production and that gamers don't want it. That being said, I think the cases mentioned (DJ Khaled, Jax Anderson ugh was there live for that one, and recently with The World Alive) are a long trend of missing what makes gamers hyped, and ends up making awkward ass moments that seem to last forever. There's a reason that year after year Warriors, Legends Never Die, and RISE keep being brought up as the best Riot has offered as Worlds Themes: the songs are actually about the game. Warriors especially went above and beyond to include references to the game within the song beyond the music video and at the time was near unmatched to that level. LND was mostly lore tie ins including a vocalist synonymous with LoL's brand at that point, and RISE was all focused around Ambition's legacy, which is a big reason why RISE misses being used for LCS: there's no Ambition. If you want a great example recently of songs that both hype up a crowd and appeal to adding to the narrative history of a game, EVO last year really nailed it, especially Runback City for the new Street Fighter 6 as the event's final bracket as well as Rumble Reset for their new nostalgia bracket, this year featuring UMvC3. The songs fit the vibes of the audiences they appeal(ed) to. The lyrics and music itself, while corny, reference game mechanics, FGC lingo, key moments, and music themes throughout the years and really added up as love letters to the history of Street Fighter and Marvel while doubling as hype as hell songs for the last day of EVO. They even included a callback to the cheesy ass live action movie for SF LOL. Music shouldn't be a main event to an esports event, but it certainly when done right sets the mood and gets you engaged in the upcoming game, and if excelled can add to a game's legacy in the moment.

@@kaludgo5811 I don't have any hate, I just think that KC as an organization has been incredibly unfair to both Yamato and now Bo by shielding the clearly dysfunctional core of legacy players from the very deserved criticism for their gameplay by scapegoating the people that actually did well and ruining their legacy in the process. GMs in general have been ruining the LEC for the past 3 to 4 years now by making decisions like this one and if being 10th for 3 splits in a row is what it takes to get these guys fired and in turn a better league in the future where talent isn't wasted on teams like this, GX, Vit (this iteration not so much but definitely before), Rogue and to some extend SK, I'd happily take that. Just think about how many contending rosters could be constructed out of the LECs talent pool. If that doesn't make you hate some of these orgs then I don't know what to say.

It's not the feeling around finals, the format is garbage. 4 trophies in a year is insane and I don't care about a single one. Also I will not forget this when season finals comes because I will not be watching anymore. I mean I already don't watch, but I somewhat keep up by watching some highlights and league podcasts, but I'm not sure it will last long. Garbage broadcast and garbage game quality. Sure a big finals event might help, but it wouldn't really make me think all those titles are anywhere near the value of the 2 split ones, including the season final.

Also in Winter - Evi was bodying everyone in lane, he was actually an insane laner - It was just later in the game he fell apart, Ruby was bad sure. Literally Jankos in Winter with Perkz literally looked like a Trainwreck - Heretics were a mess. Vitality last Summer were an absolute mess. Perkz was hard losing every lane, the comms were a mess, they started to push Bo onto tanks to try to salvage Perkz laning and actually be competitive in the late game. People also seem to forget how insane Bo was in Winter and Spring? Like come on. Karmine Corp was literally the worst roster in the LEC. They had 0 winning lanes, 0 Coordination, Bo was doing 99% of the comms as a non resident, non main English speaker... and he was literally the only one consistently actually getting ahead in games and was the only reason KC got any form of lead. Whilst having to Macro manage his whole team. People acting like Bo was given a good chance in the LEC are memeing. Acting like he has had anywhere near the comparable chance as Yike and Elyoya - Bro Elyoya literally came into a team that was already top 3? Yike came into the best team in Europe? They had a significantly better chance compared to Bo because they were actually put into winning Rosters.

As weird as that sounds, I actually agree that Keria didn't feel nearly as impactful as his usual. It did kinda feel like Guma was playing for his support and being a lane dominant player the whole split instead of having to be in a carry role. I'm not sure if Zeus is actually T1's best player just because of his carry performances. Faker actually had a very good split whereas Zeus is up and down and all around for the most part and having weird champion priorities. Actually in general T1's champion pool looked very weird. It does look like Keria got lost in the sauce with his cooking and forgot a part of what made him the support god. I think Guma was fine, but I did feel like his form was a little off as well. Oner I have nothing to say. I think T1 overall was fine but I think Gen G performed a lot better than expected.

I don’t know what they are seeing but BO is terrible and inconsistent. For every somewhat alright game he has, he has another one where he goes 0/9 and completely runs it down. If he was European or Korean they would be flaming him but because he had 10 games in China on a FPX super team they are still glazing him like 2,5 years later. He is no superstar, he is just a pretty bad player and they are dozen European junglers that are an upgrade over him (Clozer included)

Monte is way too focused on the cost saving narrative, LCS and LEC have so much money and Riot's funding that really things like the golf teaser video is completely irrelevant, they're making a finals teaser video anyway of course, let them be creative. I do find it rather hilarious that Chovy's domestic success immediately translates to he's probably the best player in the world as of now. But for whatever reason LFN wants to magically ignore how Chovy's international hurdles do hurt his resume while flaming T1 the whole way through with no excuses at all. Actually, every time T1 loses we praise the other team to high heaven but when T1 plays better there's always excuses for the other team and there's no consistency. I get that the fanbase wants to make excuses a lot for T1, but there always has to be the counter argument for every other team. If SKT was consistently winning worlds with an assumed "subpar" roster and Faker, then there has be some magic that elevates the individual players despite not being considered the best players in their position. Sometimes teams end up being a lot better than the sum of their parts and highly hyped up super teams end up being only the sum of their parts or less. The narrative that Chovy is an international choker is just there because the groundwork of what happens is that Chovy struggles to get past worlds QF and ofc his semis choke. It may not always be Chovy's fault, but the world isn't always fair.
