*Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For rooms where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*

I want to buy one but I have a tight spot I can put it in. Do you know what the height is without the wheels just from the base of the unit?? Could you measure it please! From the base of the unit to the highest point on top

Erik A Arroyo from top to bottom, it measures, @ its highest point, measures about / roughly 31 1/2 inches. It’s lowest point measures 29 inches.

The part that locks onto the back of the unit. Has that plastic ever come off the hose ? The hose detected while the lock was still on the back..I hope I didn't break it! Can I just slide the hose back into the ring?

How wide is your window? Im thinking about buying this. My window is 24" wide and I'm hoping I won't have to make modifications like yourself. Or actually how wide is the main part of the piece that goes into the window frame?

My window is 36” wide, left too right, I think the height of the unit exhaust frame, is about 10 to 12” from top too bottom

Hey, there’s a hose that came with the AC, I was wondering what is for? Does the water evaporates on its own or do I have to drain it?
@mtandiz
@mtandiz 11 ай бұрын
There’s a drain plug, lower back bottom,. I usually put a/c in tub, & drain it once a year. I think the hose would be to make this drain easier.

I’ve had one of these for a year now, but recently, it started leaking like crazy out the bottom, even only after an hour or so of being on! Any idea why? Sometimes we even try to drain it out the back, and nothing comes out, but the bottom is just full of water. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!
@mtandiz

I am away, but I believe there are to drain ports, make sure to unplug both. I have drained it in the tub, i have placed it sideways in the tub, & that usually removes all the water. So far, my A/C is still working, i hope you have the same luck.

this has been happening to me too after about 4 years! It leaks out the back and from somewhere near the bottom but I can't see from where unless I try opening the whole thing up... he mentions another drain port other than the one where we put the hose but I'm wondering how much time this will take to open it all up and hopefully figure out how to fix it.

Thanks for your video, I learned a lot. I also got an Insignia Portable AC which my girlfriend gave me 2 years ago (same design as yours but of lower BTU) and didn't know that I needed to drain it every once in a while. I wonder if there's any need for a "HOSE" to be connected to the back to drain it (I also didn't remember it came with a hose). How do you drain your portable AC? Do you let it lie down on its back when you open the drain cap or something? I would appreciate it if you can also make a video about draining it, thanks again.
@mtandiz
@mtandiz 3 жыл бұрын
Will do a video on draining, next time I drain it. I put mine in the Ryun, & remove drain plug, I then move the unit around , laying sideways , on its back, etc… That usually does the trick. I only do it once a year, at end of summer, I don’t suggest a hose, I run mine all simmer, & no issues so far, wish you the same.

You know the sliding piece is supposed to be used, not a large piece of wood. It’s definitely an odd fit I’ll admit, the hole in the plastic gets closed off about 25% when the slider plastic piece goes in, I guess they design it to fit with large windows, so if your window frame was quite wide it would slide out perfectly but otherwise a bit covers the hole when you have a standard window size. Also if you have a standard window it still works fine, just the air hole is open 75% instead of 100%. It’s a great machine but mine is quite loud when you turn the A/C on, the fan is what you would expect as far as noise for a powerful fan, but the A/C when turned on kicks in a kinda loud humming noise, anyone notice that as well! I was wondering if it is normal.

No worries... I think I might grab a sliding glass door kit if the window kit doesn’t have long enough panels for the vent hose... I noticed some units come with 2 panels and some come with 3... So, depending on how many I get I may have to buy the extras.

@@shanecalkins8045 unfortunately no. i tried running a hose out my window but the water wouldn't go against gravity to drain. the best solution I found was having a boot tray underneath the unit AND a hose running into a bucket right behind the unit. I still have to empty it twice a day. basically just giving me more capacity to hold leaking water. I have to empty it twice a day but better than every two hours.
