I wish you had installed the flanges as well, I’m trying to take out an insinkerator badger 5 but the flanges are so rusted I can’t even see if it’s supposed to function like the regular ones, because I don’t see the ring that it’s supposed to hold the triangle washer that has the screws on it.

Not quite right on the lingo, but explained well enough. Your rubber gasket is installed incorrectly. It needs to sit between the tailpiece and the disposal. It's also in the manual. Otherwise, good job.

My solution to @4:12 into this situation with the disposal eventually slowly vibrating loose and slow leaking till eventually a bad seal/leak, it has happened 3x to me ! (My research shows this model not locking in some way to avoid this) Anyway, I solved this poor design by using a cable-tie from the sink mount stud to the tightening ring.

Typically it's plugged into an outlet on a switch in your kitchen.

@4:50 WRONG !!! The rubber O ring goes INSIDE the hole that's on the side of the disposer NOT over the plastic drainpipe!! I just bought a brand new Badger 500 1/2 HP disposer and I double checked the installation manual. You are showing it the wrong way!! Also, I agree with the commenter below that the grind chamber is prone to rust prematurely. This is my 4th Badger 500 1/2 HP disposer and all 3 disposers that I installed before this had to be replaced for the same reason: rust inside the grind chamber.

There is a plug in the disposal you need to knock out right where the dishwasher connects. Check your manual, but that is likely the issue

As long as you have the top ring in, the disposal just screws in basically. I did this alone, you should be able to.
