Once I found this video, I deleted all the others because you are so thorough and show all parts of the process from electrical to replacing the sink connector. Thank you so much. My folks are 90 and I noticed a puddle under their sink. The GDisposal was leaking like a shower head. I pulled it out, went to Lowes, purchased a 1 horse powered sinkerator badger quiet model, and put it in in-less than 1 hour all thanks to you. I was a handy man in my later years and put a few in but it’s been 10 years or so. Your lesson was superb. Keep them going and thanks again.

This is one of the great video about installing garbage disposal unit from scratch to finish. I watched several videos on this but they are not as detailed as this video. Thank you for patiently explaining all the tips in detail with such close up video and I was surprised at one point you were redoing the step again to explain or show the video with close up shots to explain it with more clarity. Thank you so much for your time and patiently explaining all the steps and this helped me replacing my dead garbage disposal unit with a new one. Since I had NEVER touched a pipe before. I didn’t know what to do with the blue thing for water tight seal. Since I didn’t know what to do with it. It took me about an hour. I googled how to fix a pipe with blue thing. Once I seen how to put it on the pipe I was finished with 5 Minutes

This was one of the best DIY videos I have ever seen. Nice job. I watched it and then removed my old one and installed the new one without even looking back at it again. There are a couple tricky tips and he showed you exactly how to resolve and included some troubleshooting. Everything was just exactly enough to do the job right. He did not show in detail how to reconfigure the PVC drain pipes (he has another video he referenced) but even there he told me enough to figure it out anyway. Great job!!!!

This is the best DIY video I've ever seen. I like some of his tips. I'm 72 years old and just had knee surgery a little over two weeks ago so the tire jack worked like a charm for me when I mounted the unit. BTW that ring was a real pain.

Thanks for a great DIY video! I'm in the middle of installing an Insinkerator 1/2H Badger 500. The disposal was so rusted it finally froze up. It was starting to split the motor casing from the expanding rust. I had a difficult time trying to remove the split ring from the sink and rest of the pieces. Wound up using a sawzall. Once I cut the split ring, the rest of the pieces fell off in my hand. Sheeesh, what a pain! finish the rest tomorrow. Thanks again for a clear video. Nice lighting and good camera work.

Man I was about to head out to Home Depot when you mentioned the reset button under and how to manually spin it, I paused the video and did it in less than 2 minutes. Problem solved. You saved me 140 bucks and a trip to home depot on this lazy Saturday. Thanks so much

Fantastic video! Thank you so much for doing this video and explaining everything in such detail. My husband and I decided to tackle this ourselves to replace our leaking Badger 500 with a new one same model. This video saved us so much money over hiring someone. Everything was so easy to understand, and love the tip on using the large screwdriver to brace the bracket when locking the disposal onto the 'ramps'. Our only issue was our new disposal was slightly different size than the old one that we were replacing, so the discharge tube wasn't lining up correctly. We did some trouble shooting and had to adjust some piping but got it to fit, and everything is working great! Thanks again so much!

This was a very helpful video for installing a new insinkerator badger, thank you so much. There was no white cord on the plugin cord, but here i learned that it had to be the ribbed one. It works fine now.

I had looked at several bad videos before coming across this one. This showed me everything I needed to know. Great job explaining the complete job. As an FYI, I was able to upgrade from a Badger 5 (1/2 HP) with a BADGER 900 (3/4 HP) without having to make any plumbing modifications. Some viewers might want to know that.

Thanks for the vid. Mine started leaking last night, got a direct replacement this morning and took me about an hour replacing it. Didn't mess with the ring portion of it, just a direct swap. Oh, and used a car jack with two boards to hold it up.

The whole assembly would turn. Just needed a clear sanity check to make sure I wasn't the problem. Definitely gave me some piece of mind putting the electrical back in to see you do it first.

I also want to thank you for the informative video and for keeping the video online. Out of 13 videos, yours was by far the most thorough and helpful. I couldn't find any videos that named the metal ring that's on the garbage disposal itself. I think it's called, a "lower mounting ring" and it's the one that you need to tighten with a tool in the dog ears. It came off and I'm not certain how to re-install it or how far down I should put the ring.

Thank you so much for this!! I replace our disposal (against my husband's recommendation to hire it done). Previous disposal was not installed completely into the "snapped in" position and therefore had rusted the ring to the flange. After a bit of CLR and a toothbrush and good ole elbow grease, I was able to complete the installation on my own! Thank you!
