I can't sleep because I'm too distracted, I find myself moving my foot side to side a lot and checking the clock every 10 minutes estimating how much rest I can get if I sleep now. I just ruined it tonight .-. I have school tomorrow and it's 3am, I'm so so tired but I can't fall asleep. 2 days ago I stayed home because I was too tired to even stand properly, I can't figure out why I can't sleep and it hurts because I've missed so much school because just being there gives me anxiety, like I can't get away from something. I'm 12 and I've had insomnia since I was 10, I was a test dummy for a sleep lab and was diagnosed professionally, and I can't sleep at all, In fact I was described "clinically nocturnal" By the doctor. I was given a a sort of nerve gear to wear on my head for a weak. My brain waves were very high at night, like a normals person during the day, except, it was at night for me. During the day, I was more, in a dazed faze. I can't help it. People tell me to just force myself to sleep, but I can't. This makes school harder as well, especially since I'm in all advanced classes.they said that they can't give me the normal treatment because if my age. So I have to take the regular non working pills. It's currently 5:26 AM and I'm not tired at all... I don't know how to deal with it.

So many providers and mainstream speakers are solely focused on "sleep hygiene" and how if you're experiencing any type of insomnia, it must be because you don't take your bedtime routine seriously enough - or, in recent years, now that more insurance covers CPAP, that it MUST be apnea and requires a CPAP. Thank you for your more nuanced and curiosity-driven approach! Edit: Getting an ADHD diagnosis and treating my ADHD with stimulant medication made my overall life more calm and less stressful and I sleep better at night now.

• No caffeine during the day (coffee or tea) • Switch all your light bulbs to yellow based lights (warm white or 2700 - 3,300 Kelvin range). Even better if they can be dimmed! • Minimise exposure to bright light after 7pm • Don't look at or use any electronic devices after 8pm • Change regular curtain or blinds to blockout curtain or blinds. Make sure your room is as dark as possible - so cover any electronic device lights (eg. digital clock, charger lights) with bluetac, cloth or stickers • If it's summer, or you live in hot climate, you overheat or you're menopausal, change bed sheets and covers to rayon/bamboo, cotton, viscose or linen - these 4 fabrics are cooling and improves sleep. Have a fan on or open windows if your room is stuffy • Eat melatonin or tryptophan-rich food like cherries, nuts, seeds, tofu, cheese, red meat, chicken, turkey, fish, oats, beans, lentils, and eggs. They all help with sleep, so try some for dinner! • At bed time, read boring books or listen to calm music. Meditate or practice deep, calm breathing • Most importantly, set up a routine for sleep! Go to bed roughly same time every day and wake up at similar time. Make sure you get plenty of bright light when you wake up (stick your head out a window, stand on your balcony, go into the backyard or get a daylight lamp if you live in cold/dark latitudes) because it sets your circadian rhythm. And don't sleep in on weekends! It'll undo all your effort If none of the above work, it could be due to psychological stress/anxiety. Try Congnitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where it's been shown to be as effective as sleeping pills - minus the side effects

Interesting. The sleep expert says if you don't treat the depression, the insomnia isn't gonna get better. The psychiatrist says if we don't fix your sleep, the depression isn't gonna get better. And here we're wondering why I'm stuck. 6.15 in the morning, desperately trying to find tips I haven't seen yet (don't think they exist), with a heart pounding like I just ran a marathon and a brain that just needs to think about a million things at once. I was on tramadol for RLS for 10 1/2 years, and got off of it within 4 days of starting the minerals salts. I'm on day 3 of being off Gabapentin and Baclofen, that I've been on for 10 1/2 years. I'm sleeping, but I'm not getting that deep sleep that we need, as my brain tries to wake up in the middle of the night, but I fall back to sleep after controlling my breathing after a few minutes. By two days I've not slept well.. I am sleepy, meaning my body wants to have a sleep (symptoms = headache if I don't go to bed, feel of sleepiness, red sleepy eyes all day) and it's not any other issue/fever causing all these symptoms.. it is sleep deficiency. So to complete sleep I go to bed, it takes long time to fall asleep.. and then after 4 - 5 hours of weak sleep (weak cuz I remember my dreams as I was literally thinking them but not seeing them.. it's a sign of weak sleep that you have not slept deeply even after being so much sleepy with red eyes). Now since I've woke in middle of night I try again but fail to fall a-sleep again and here I go another whole day with incomplete sleep hence headache and other issues hoping that next night the sleep shall be completed. But no.. third night and by 3 days sleep is incomplete of just 4 - 5 hrs that too weak.

Did you make an error at 4mins, 45secs?: 'As you reach middle age.... despite all of these things, you're a little bit more resistant to sleep deprivation, or to the effects of sleep deprivation. What I mean by this is that, let's say if you were a teenager and you missed 4-5 hours of sleep, it wouldn't affect you as much a if you were older and you missed 4-5hours of sleep. You would be able to perform a little better, which is kind of paradoxical... ' I can't tell from that if you mean teenagers are more resistant, or 'midagers'. “Insomnia made me feel gross. I felt sick all the time, and I looked like an old woman, even though I’m only 33! All I wanted was to go out and enjoy my hobbies, and to feel confident doing it. A friend introduced me to the *4InsomniaCure. Com* , and everything changed. I immediately started sleeping better, and that sick feeling went away. Pretty soon, people were complimenting me on how great my skin looked! Even better, I looked forward to each day, now that I knew I’d be awake and energized!”

when i was a teenager if I woke up after 4 hours of nightly sleep, I knew within 2 hours I would be hit with a second crash of sleep which if I avoided would kill me for the whole day. Now, at 48, if I wake up at 3 am and cannot sleep the rest of the night, it is annoying, but when I do get up, I notice very little difference in how I feel that day verses being younger

I need help, i don't think what I have is insomnia as i can sleep when i feel sleepy, but throughout my whole life -and this is not an exaggeration- I've NEVER managed to have a healthy sleep cycle. No matter what method of fixing my sleep schedule i use, it fucks up the next couple days to weeks. Even when i feel physically tired, my brain is the most functioning at night and i just can't sleep during nights. It's like clockwork; every night the time i sleep will shift 1-2 hours, so if i sleep at 11 at one night, the next night no matter what i try, how much i force myself to sleep, i can't sleep until 1 am, then the next day it goes to 3 am etc. By the end of the week I'm sleeping at 5 am, either going to uni with 2 hours of sleep or missing lectures because i didn't even sense my 30+ alarms.

What if you don’t have health insurance and can’t afford a physician or treatment? If one more article or KZbin video tells me to see my doctor for help, I’ll lose it lol

I listen to these videos and then I go into a deep slumber. This voice! You should have a relaxation channel, I tell you, your voice is gold. Add that to some soothing music and you will hypnotize me.

I struggled with lack of sleep for more than 2 years and believed there was clearly no cure for me. Not until a psychological behavioral therapist encouraged this specific plan *4InsomniaCure. Com* It help me know about science the way we sleep at night. And every night, I can now sleep normally. I enjoy slumbering in the mattress again.. .

He said you can’t treat insomnia without treating depression? Are we sure it isn’t the reverse? Treating insomnia to help depression?

It actually works both ways. Yes you are correct.
