I see what you mean about the vocals. They do blend in. This is a great song. It is so beautiful. The instrumentation is fantastic. I would listen to more of their songs. Thanks for sharing... :-) You make me laugh......

Well, if you want something Insomnium Epic that isnt "short" ;), have a listen to Winters Gate! Its a whopping 40 minutes long. Or have a listen to my personal favourite: Lay of the Autumn, although you cant go wrong with any Insomnium song.

You know they call Finland "the land of a thousand lakes" (that's actually an understatement as there are about 188 000 lakes here)... Insomium is amazing. My absolute favourite song of all time is Weighed Down With Sorrow by Insomium. You should listen to it. It has only harsh vocals, but has more emotion in it than anything else I have ever heard...

Love the review....agree that While We Sleep is one of the greatest songs of recent times....so epic, as you put it. Would love to hear your take on Rise To Fall, or possibly even Deadlock for a female vocal compliment to harsh vocals. Either way, always love your authentic thoughts on metal music!

Master song crafters of melodic death metal goodness. Honestly think this is one of the lesser great songs of the new album though (which speaks to the overall quality of the album). The Offering is my current favorite track. P.S. The harsh vocals thing is an acquired taste, in my opinion. Spend more time with quality metal that has screaming vocals (plenty of it out there) and you may eventually decide you couldn't picture or enjoy the songs/bands any other way. For me, I just consider it a part of the music as any other instrument is. They are not strange or angry or extreme to me.

That was pretty good. Vocals ok and instrumental very good. At some point give cosmograf a spin. More straight laced but great composition. One man band with guests. This year's album try godspeed for sharks. If not on here give him 10mins in your own time.

Not there best song but still it is Insomnium 😊 Bloodred hourglass and Mors principium est are in my opion 2 better finnish melodeath bands
