Interesting fact - the album was initially supposed to be released in 95 and was (i think) going to be the second solo album by a member since the first group album dropped (after Tical be Method Man) - but RZAs basement flooded and all the recordings and beats were destroyed. It ended up being released in 99, with completely different beats and production, with a lot of it done by Deck himself. There was a lot of hype around Deck when the first Wu album dropped and it had died down by the time he finally released the solo album. He could have been a lot more successful and respected had the original album saw the light of day. To me, he is still Wu Tang's stand out rapper. There's rarely a song he features on that he doesnt absolutely steal the show. In the documentary (I cant remember which member says it) they say that absolutely no-one wants to do a verse after him on a track as they know they'll never top it. Decks solo stuff is a bit hit and miss. His flow and rhyme schemes always hit, but to me his production lacks that flavour RZA pumps into it.
