Another story spoilers comment I like that we get a horror protagonist who actually gets to win--she escapes, lives to old age, and has photos in her nice apartment of her and her brother hanging out (+mr frog!), and is consistently able to shut out/ignore what's haunting her. Its not just "we survived a monster as kids but it's back 20 years later and I have to sacrifice myself to end the cycle," she took deseprate measures to leave a horrible situation and not even vengeful ghosts can stop her from living now

This game is actually a masterclass in timing for horror. The moment you realize the painting has become the actual woman is the moment she runs at you. If she'd moved a second earlier, it would be a lame jumpscare. If she'd moved a few seconds later, it would've just been ambient thriller.
@chloeballans783321 күн бұрын
Thankyou so much for this comment because it made me hyper vigilant of the painting, waiting for it. Thankfully I noticed she was out way before Julia did and was able to not get jumpscared by the running. You saved my life, I fear.

@@41tinman41 why shouldn't pregnant people play scary games? Genuine question. I know increased stress over long periods can be detrimental, but is playing a scary game for a couple hours also bad?
@41tinman4121 күн бұрын
@@saveoursquirrels4241 A couple of hours should be fine, though that would differ from person to person. Stress in general can be uncomfortable for the pregnant woman and the unborn child. Spike in heart rate and blood pressures, or anything in general that could cause a significant change in the homeostasis of the body. A sustained scream can cause a person to bear down which could squeeze on the baby if you do it wrong. so yeah, just opt for more chill stuff if you cant handle scary games and movies and pregnant.

incredibly funny stream, probably one of my favorite so far! I was so totally chicken when it was first getting hairy and I almost turned the video off, but I'm glad I stuck with it. what a great game.

*SPOILERS* I loooove the writing/story in this game - like going home to your apartment and then ur just in the cabin again! but the MC decides to just take the blue pill or whatever and cope. And then the dancing is so freaking funny, i agree w jacob that its a nice come down from everything

Unironically Jacob explaining how to drink water to chat is actually what parenting is like but you feel insane because the toddler just isn’t getting it and you don’t know how else to explain drinking water. Hes gonna be a great dad

This was so scary! I was cracking up at Julia's "I chose THIS over Fruitbus!" (23:28), especially now after the Fruitbus stream 😂

51:40 in jacobs defense i also didnt see that until i put it on .25 speed. Julia just clocked that SO FAST XD made for a hillarious moment tho

No?! I guess my brain is wired the same as Julia's because that was *so* clear to me. I don't understand how anyone can NOT see it unless they weren't actually seeing the screen. I do notice on looking at the timeline for when it's actually on screen that it's only on screen for like four seconds, but it's pretty much the only thing moving. Don't people see movement better than other things? (btw this is not intented as insulting or sass, it's genuine: I don't understand how that was not super noticeable to people.)
@TheDrawfeeBraincell21 күн бұрын
@@M.Datura I am absolutely NOT an expert, but my guess would be that either Jacob & OG commenter weren’t fully paying attention yet (since they were JUST entering the cabin), or that it’s due to people having different processing speeds. I know at least for me (I have a processing disorder) sometimes I don’t catch things because I didn’t have enough time to, well, process what I’m seeing/hearing. brains are so interesting!! :)

For me, the movement of the legs basically blended into the movement of the door opening, which was what I was still focusing on. Plus, the leg colour blends in pretty well to the floor.
@M.Datura21 күн бұрын
@@TheDrawfeeBraincellYes, that's what I was thinking too. That it's about focus more than anything else. I think I'm also more questioning if people don't respond more to movement in tense situations really. I can't tell, I don't have a before and after comparison with PTSD to know if a thing is "normal" or PTSD normal. I too have processing delays (due to a myriad reasons, so I feel you there), and my processing speed of any input varies wildly on my daily state, but just, to me it's like there's a spotlight on it: it's in the centre of the screen, and it's the *only* thing moving for about five seconds. Plus it's such a hyper specific visual that at least I associate with "oh shit!". I think my real question is more, "do people not get more alert by suspicious motion in a tense situation?" - probably related to how tense people experienced the stream.
@M.Datura21 күн бұрын
@@sarahg6932 Aha. That explains something. I don't focus on a door opening *at all,* especially not when tense. The door is after all not likely to be a thing that causes an issue. I suppose they both move aside to the left.

Whenever I hear a lore radio report I always think about how in PT they said "called nine eleven" instead of "911" and therefore I always wait with baited breath whenever I see "911" in subtitles. I never understood how they let that slide in the demo.
