Trying to find the balance between cost and performance is tough. We compared an $800 dollar Milwaukee Tool Inspection Camera to a $275 Teslong not long ago and the Teslong was better in every way. Now we are trying to get more budget minder and figure out what is the best amount of money to spend for quality.
In this case, it comes down to the cord that supports the camera. While each unit has pros and cons, the real issue is being able to use the camera at a distance.

I've found that NTS-300 cable/imager OPTION chosen vs. your application is super important. The triple-imager cable of the NTS-300 option that you reviewed has 3 FIXED focal-length UP CLOSE imagers in it (.6" to 1.2" range and .8" to 2.4" range on the sides, and 1.2" to 4" range looking forward) - it's better suited for looking down tubes and other confined spaces. I chose to get the NTS-300 model that has an auto-focus imager, which I think would have done a great job showing your cable and oil filter. The tradeoff is that only has a forward-looking imager (no side imagers) and it's a bit bigger diameter (12.5mm instead of 7.9mm). I also bought a multi-imager (fixed focus) cable for the NTS-300 separately to use in tubes and confined spaces. I found that the auto-focus cable is what I use most of the time, and I only use the multi-imager cable for super tight spaces and/or to minimize the size sheetrock hole needed to peek inside wall cavities.

on flexible cable ,wrap copper earth wire around the cable,camera end ,the cable can be positioned better now simply by bending the copper wire(earth wire from electric cable)👍

I bought the auto-focus model. I agree with Chuck B. I found mine on sale on amazon, so I got a 3 ft. 5.5mm camera to go with it for small openings.
