I am an old woman now and I live in chronic pain but every day I vacuum with a cordless light vacuum and I push myself to walk my dogs and clean my house as much as I can. I just do the little things and it keeps me positive. I love this video.😊

Sometimes when we look at the whole amount of work and tasks we have to do, it can be overwhelming. But like you mentioned…..just to start is the key. One step at a time….. then before we know it, very soon the tasks are all completed.

Shannons’s letter - and her gift to the new homemaker and wife - was so powerful. Your work truly changes lives. I have both volumes of your Inspirations books. I’ve read Volume I and I’m about to begin Volume II. These are books I’ll be returning to again and again for inspiration and encouragement, so thank you for blessing us with your wisdom and your words. Suggested topics: (1) Can you talk about your sick day routine and how it differs from other days? (2) Can you talk more about the types of things you like to do to relax and recharge? Are there things you do daily to maintain your weight, such as exercising? Do you still practice intermittent fasting? I’m intrigued by the idea and want to try it myself. Thank you 💗

💐 Nikki, I especially love your talking on just everyday challenges and simple things. Today, Friday, I am having trouble starting on my Friday cleaning, washing the sheets, vacuuming, all the things that I want to do. I have my box taken down from the closet shelf with winter sweaters that need to be hung up, and my summer dresses unhung and returned to the storage box. I feel so tired. Watching you just getting up and starting, is helping me😊. We, who love homemaking, need this simple encouragement from each other since we all experience it. This time of year at Thanksgiving is quite hard for me every year because I have not been accepted by my husband’s 2 adult daughters and although I would love to have everyone come and sit down at our beautiful dining room and have a lovely Thanksgiving dinner, their wishes to only have it at their homes are more important, unfortunately. I am truly glad for you and others who are allowed to have lovely family dinners at your table. Thank you for your beautiful encouragement to women! 🩷🤗🌷 P.S. Do you know when your new Inspirations book is going to be available? I just looked on Amazon and didn’t see it. I read your first one almost every day for encouragement.

Nikki, the lovely letter from Shannon is a lovely example of how God uses us to bless others and to shine His light. How it must have warmed your heart to read such a letter. How wonderful to know that you are a part of the young woman’s journey, however ever intentionally. Take care.

Hi Nikki, I enjoy your videos, if I'm getting ready or busy doing something I can just listen and if I can watch also that's a bonus! The music and your voice calms me and I want to thank you for giving us your time and wonderful helpful content. I am older but you are so helpful to me in the season I am in. If I may share another lady that I love to listen to is Lydia Ruth from Homemakers Radio. She has a blog and also on utube. She is older and she likes to say she is "homeschooling" us ladies. ❤😊📚📔🧹🧺 I pray God bless you in your endeavors.

When I was a little girl, I was amazed at all my beloved Mum was able to do in a day. She worked outside the home as a teacher and then had so many things to do at home, even though my dear Dad did a lot too and my brothers and I participated a little as well. A few times, I asked her how she could do all these mostly repetitive tasks without getting bored, and even when she was tired. She would always reply with a smile: "I don't think about it, I just do it. I think about other things while doing it, so it doesn't get boring :) ". This inspired me so much! But sometimes I forget so thank you for this lovely, meaningful video! It's easier to just do it, without overthinking it or dreading it... all we need to do is start! It is truly so rewarding when the task is completed :)

Oh Nikki this is exactly what I needed this week😢 your videos always bring me a sense of peace and happiness but sometimes they go even deeper. You changed my life last year, I watched all of your videos since then but I’ve been struggling with being overwhelmed with 3 small children and feeling like the housework is so daunting, this video reminded me that sometimes it’s not the task itself that overwhelmes us but the thought of it. Thank you Nikki, the world needs more people like you💗💗

I really appreciate today's video,Nikki! I am struggling with the "homemaker burnout" at the moment: no energy or creativity to do anything around the house or cook. As much as I love to be homemaker and I know this is what God wants for me, I realize that I have no ambition to dream about the future. What are my hobbies? What are my personal aspirations? How do I see myself in the future? I have no answers to these questions, unfortunately, and it makes me very sad. It is also not the person I used to be.
@TheLadyoftheHouse

I’m so sorry you are struggling with these feelings currently, that can be so uncomfortable but you are doing the best thing, you’re asking yourself those questions. If you never ask them, you aren’t in the place of answering them. You aren’t in the place of being moved to figure it out. It will come, your spark will come back. I feel this at least once a month and without fail, it leads me down a better path but in the moment, I can never see it🌹

I really appreciate this video! Sometimes it's those little undone things that nag at us and cause unnecessary stress. An older gentleman we know said once, "If there's something you need to do and you don't feel like doing it, just do it anyway!" I know this sounds so obvious, but it has come to my mind often and has helped me to just move past a feeling and get it done. 🙂

I don't come up with an idea but I want to thank you for your encouragement about femininity, homemaking, and loving your family and your husband. I was married for about 8 years when I discovered your channel, in 2019 and everything changed, it just clicked and I had the answers for so many situations just by watching your videos. I rediscovered God, I am orthodox but that doesn't mean I can't follow your ideas... I check notifications daily for a new video from your channel and every one of your videos is always a good surprise. So keep up like that, don't change anything, show us some ideas for winter dresses, and maybe a Q and A about good and bad surprises with the new house, the new area, and the new school for your girls.

Hi Nikki, How are you?. Congratulations on your new book!. After having thoroughly cleaned the vacuum cleaner today I can attest that it is my least enjoyable task. I am also not too keen of errands that require being on the phone with customer service or making doctor appointments. I also dislike sorting mail except happy mail of course!. By adding a beautiful entryway mail basket and letter opener that I love it keeps me motivated to use them regularly. I highly encourage investing in a proper mail opener. What gets me going each morning is to try to include a fun project each day as much as possible. I get super excited to get things done so I can get to my fun project...lol. That Soup looked delicious and the outro with Lady's happy leap was so all the rage!. 👋

I was gifted a beautiful Mother-of-pearl and opal letter opener with peacocks on it. I adore it. Misplaced it in our last move but I know it's in a box SOMEwhere...in the meantime, I'm just using a regular flatware knife. It accomplishes the same task, just not as prettily LOL Edit: Also, I DETEST cleaning vacuum cleaners. When we had carpet (which I sorely miss!!!!), I cleaned the vacuum once a month. It wasn't the cleaning itself I minded, but the having to wait for everything to thoroughly dry before reassembling it that bothered me.

@@katie7748 That sounds like a beautiful letter opener!. Mine has a gold colored knife part and the handle is a carved Rose in clear crystal. It came with a matching carved crystal tray. I look forward to using it everyday. Before this I too used a random nice from the kitchen for many years...lol. Drying the vacuum is annoying, not withstanding all the little crevices that are hard to wash and dry. All for it to get all dusty and nasty all over again...

I feel your pain on the DMV. Back in our home state, it was so simple. All in one place. Well laid out website if that was all you needed. Helpful, kind employees. Short/relativity short lines. (YES, REALLY! Even in the major metropolitan area we spent many years in, it was like this.) But in our new state? Oh, good gravy! So complicated. So many extra steps. Extra expenses. RUDE employees. Horridly unhelpful webpage. Sigh. Oh, and teen licenses were a piece of cake back home too. But not here!! Because why would anything here be simple, inexpensive, and make sense? Sigh. It's ok, though. We're figuring it out, step by step. Not the end of the world. Just wanted to let you know I understand a bit of what you went through.

How are you feeling with such a different adjustment to a new home and location? Jorge does not have his beloved stove he likes and I see you do not have your other washer and dryer. Thinks you are use to. Do any of these changes give you a feeling of excitement or other feelings. These sound like strange questions, but I am definently a home body and change is super hard for me, even just trying to make my home mine is hard especially when I need to consider other family likes.
