What other shampoo product can you use?
@InspireDIY
@InspireDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Hey CA B, great question mate, because we are using it as a surfactant- any shampoo could be used, baby shampoo is recommended because its is relatively clear, neutral pH, and doesn’t negatively impact the adhesives in the film like a detergent may. Best of luck🤙 Kent

When I installed mine a few years ago, I didn’t even realize that there was a removable film so I ended up putting it on with the tint side facing the window and the removable film facing towards the inside of the room. It still stayed on there and sealed properly, and when I wanted to remove it, it came off with no issues. I’m sure that it was not intended to be installed this way, but it seems like film still worked just fine. Just another idea on getting tinting that is easier to remove since you mentioned that in your video. Anyway, thanks for the great videos! I’m going to install some more soon so I wanted to brush up on how to do it when I came across your videos. Great content!

Tape to split is awesome! Also, if you roll up the tint inside out, separate just the too & spray the sticky side a bit & roll back up (tighter) the backing sticks to the outside film & just pulls off. I don't know how to explain it well, but it's a game-changer!

Great video. Almost every other video talks about doing the reverse roll method which seems a bit daunting for a beginner. I like your method of sticking the film to another window and completely removing the liner before placing the film onto the target window. Seems a lot more forgiving. Hey Patricia, the shampoo/water mix is mainly there to help with repositioning and then removing bubbles with a squeegee. I’ve never attempted window tinting without it - but have found if I don’t spray enough then the film sticks straight away and is not forgiving at all. Best of luck, Kent

Why do we avoid the ammonia-based sprays?

Hey JPJP, Great question, apparently the caustic nature of ammonia breaks down the adhesive used in window films. Cheers, Kent

@InspireDIY
@InspireDIY Жыл бұрын
Hey SkidRenz, I would buy a non-adhesive or static cling type of film, they look just the same when installed but can peel off really easily when you don't want it anymore. see this vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYbak4KXZbBsrKM cheers, Kent

Hey Karen, make sure you always have a sharp blade, and when trimming film to window size after install, don’t start your cut at the edge, rather work from the centre 👍 best of luck, Kent
