Hey CA B, great question mate, because we are using it as a surfactant- any shampoo could be used, baby shampoo is recommended because its is relatively clear, neutral pH, and doesn’t negatively impact the adhesives in the film like a detergent may. Best of luck🤙 Kent

When I installed mine a few years ago, I didn’t even realize that there was a removable film so I ended up putting it on with the tint side facing the window and the removable film facing towards the inside of the room. It still stayed on there and sealed properly, and when I wanted to remove it, it came off with no issues. I’m sure that it was not intended to be installed this way, but it seems like film still worked just fine. Just another idea on getting tinting that is easier to remove since you mentioned that in your video. Anyway, thanks for the great videos! I’m going to install some more soon so I wanted to brush up on how to do it when I came across your videos. Great content!

Tape to split is awesome! Also, if you roll up the tint inside out, separate just the too & spray the sticky side a bit & roll back up (tighter) the backing sticks to the outside film & just pulls off. I don't know how to explain it well, but it's a game-changer!

Great video. Almost every other video talks about doing the reverse roll method which seems a bit daunting for a beginner. I like your method of sticking the film to another window and completely removing the liner before placing the film onto the target window. Seems a lot more forgiving. Don’t think I’ll attempt it without some help though! Cheers.

Hey Patricia, the shampoo/water mix is mainly there to help with repositioning and then removing bubbles with a squeegee. I’ve never attempted window tinting without it - but have found if I don’t spray enough then the film sticks straight away and is not forgiving at all. Best of luck, Kent

Hey Kenneth, I scored this beauty from the hardware store.. I was tired of cheap ones that stopped spraying or working properly and leaking just to be thrown away and needing replacement. A few extra bucks and it’s still going 👌 cheers, Kent

If you’re tinting the inside of double pain glass, it’s highly likely to break! You need to rent the outside if it’s double pane/ insulated glass. Otherwise the heat WILL bust the window.
@InspireDIY
@InspireDIY 23 күн бұрын
Yeah, that can be true.. dark tint can cause a temperature increase between panes leading to cracking. A lighter tint that focuses on blocking UV is the safer option 👌Kent
@fineartonfire_5327
@fineartonfire_5327 17 күн бұрын
@ we own a glass shop and it’s been our experience that any UV blocking tent on the inside reflects those rays back out, causing the gasses to heat inside/between the two panes. Causing those gasses to expand and blowing out the seals. Which will then lead to moisture and shit building up between the two glasses. Likewise all the window companies we deal with expressly state that ANY tint or films on double pane/storm windows voids all warranty. It’s your windows. So I can’t tell ya what to do. But I’d hate for you to have issues if I didn’t tell ya. When we do the safety films on tempered glass like for schools, those windows are built in place, on location. So they don’t have the pressured gasses sealed between two panes like household storm windows do. So allot of household customers think we are yanking them around when we refuse to tint them at their homes when some other companies will. It’s not that it physically can’t be done. It’s just we aren’t willing to except the liability it brings to us when the seals inevitably blow.

Hey Casey, measure the space between verticals timber window sills (this would be glass plus aluminium/timber window frame), hope that makes sense. Kent
