I am one of those people I think. I started using prescription tretinoin 12 months ago and it has helped with my hormonal acne on my jaw but right from the start I could use it every day, right down my neck, under my eyes, I can even put it on damp skin and not a single flake. I thought I just had really stubborn skin. One thing that has improved 100% is the thin crepy skin under my eyes has totally gone away. I just turned 40 in March and I continue to use it every night except when I do an acid peel.

I just started using tretinoin 0.025% tonight for the first time! Sadly we don’t have dermatica or curology in Australia so this is the next best option. I buffered with some curel and squalene and planning to use once a week for the first month or so depending on how well my skin tolerates it. Thanks for all your advice over the years Caroline! Evie G hi!! I’m from Aus too and was curious about your process if you’re okay to share? Did you just got to your GP or derm?
@evieg79404 жыл бұрын
Jessica B Hi Jessica! I actually got a script online from instantscripts.com.au/. I was worried about going into my GP in person due to the shutdown and have also heard that not every GP will write a script. You can schedule a consultation (which is bulk billed if you have Medicare) and fill out a few questions and a GP will call you back. They then email the script to your nominated pharmacy. It was so surprisingly easy. I can’t guarantee you’ll have the same experience but if you are eligible for bulk billing, there’s nothing out of pocket so worth a try! ❤️✨ I bought my tret from my local Priceline and it was about $25. All the best!

I started with The Ordinary 5% granactive retinoid in squalane, using in for a couple of months, one day on and off.No peeling, no any 'bad' side effects. My skin has improved in texture, but very little improvement on those fine lines. Should i be moving to a stronger version. If yes, would you recomend going to 'Dermetica', or just keep going forward with The Ordinary (watched all the vitamin a videos you did, very nice, interesting, real info i love)ones? Now on my cheeks near ears, and my jawline and ‘feck’ (not sure if face or neck!) just got dermatica adapalene .1 clindamycin and BP. Says use every other night. Can I still use an acid (DDG peel, Elemis peel pad, SR GG lactic) on other nights / mornings, or best not to? 2 - I think it came back when I started taking a multi vit but I stopped that after 6 weeks, and that was 4 months ago but it’s no better. May lindstom blue cocoon is absolutely amazing at helping recover from the flaky phase. I didn’t recognize my face the next day, it’s that good. Korean masks helped a lot during the day, so that I could continue with Tret. Just keep them coming. ....and for the love of god, do not put any needles on your face BEFORE starting Tret. No dermarolling before. Don’t do what I did. Not before Tret. During Tret absolutely not (your skin will no allow it anyway). Medik8 is by far the best thing that I have used. Never got sore skin or anything remotely close. And I did put it under my eyes. Actually all over. But medik8 is no Tret. With Tret you can’t and you should never do that. Skin around your eyes cannot take that. Don’t ever put Tret around your eyes. You can try medik8 once, then wait and see how skin reacts. Buff it to be on the safe side with an eye cream. Caroline is going to kill me for saying this ...

Caroline I hope you see this ! So I am thinking of starting tretinoin (0.05%) and vitamin C ( from timeless beauty 20% vitamin c , vitamin E and ferulic acid in the morning ) . I used to use the La Roche Posay redermic R retinol cream and it was like water on my skin . It did help my skin slightly but I want something more potent. However , I came in contact with la Roche Posay and asking if I can use the serum but they said that I am way too young (24) to start retinol because they say their formula is too potent . Do you think that starting with tretinoin at 24 is too soon ? Prevention is better than cure. P.S. I was thinking of finishing a bottle of the la Roche Posay serum to “prepare” my skin for tretinoin ,that’s why I came in contact with them . P.S. 2 I don’t smoke , I don’t drink . On the other hand , I am from a Mediterranean country and I used to sunbathe during the summer and never wore sunscreen until the age of 17-18.

I felt lucky to live in my country the day i found a medical grade, but no prescription required(!), product at the pharmacy; probably not available outside. It is based on: retinoic acid 0.02%, clindamycin 0.8% and glycolic acid 4%. It is gel-like, contains polyvinyl a - so it creates a thin protective layer. Boy, oh boy.. there are some serious miracles happening during the night. I use it in a sequence: two evenings in a row with nothing else on top of that and regenerate the third night following, with Hydraluron serum (thank you, m'lady:) and Dermalogica rich repair (because my skin is addicted to its heavy occlusives and nutrients. It's also v+cf). As a result, my skin makes thanksgiving parties 24/7 and -- to stay 100% honest -- i am grateful there are no surprise breakout mornings anymore (for ~3 years now):D

This is always bothering me about the Charlotte Tilbury videos. No shade because I’m her number 1 fangirl BUT she always puts the moisturiser on, then the eye cream. I’m always shouting at the screen THE MOLECULES IN EYE CREAM ARE SMALLER!!!!! xx
