My understanding is that Insta360's approach is to combine the positives of both DJI and GoPro when designing the Ace Pro. It is therefore a little perplexing that the lens cover isn't removable and easily replaceable by the consumer.

I can theoretically go way beyond just combining advantages of both. It will be interesting to see what it can do with final FW.

That is not a suction cup and it is not detachable.

I just got my camera yesterday and was impressed with them putting in a suction cup mount until I looked underneath and found it had a single use sticky pad and wasnt a suction cup at all, seems a bit redundant to look like a suction cup but not actually be one, other than that totally impressed so far

It is a reusable adhesive mount, nobody has ever claimed that it is a suction mount, those look completely different. Including one is very nice, they are quite useful.
