As an owner of the One R version of this camera (same lens module with the older core), I agree that it is a great and an under appreciated device. However, Insta360 discontinued this 1" lens module. Boo! Enjoyed the video.

Thanks for sharing this…. I see that the One R is available for £220 online.. would you say it is worth it over the RS (at £440+). I’m keen to get into using the Leica lens.

@@londonphotographer The lens module is the same, and you'll get a good experience with the One R core. At half price, I'd play with the R core to start. Maybe pick up a RS core later. The RS core is better, but for that price differential, the R is fine.

I have it for years and it's awesome. Not perfect though. I hoped to keep the extreme wide angle view while filming in 60 fps, but 50/60 fps has narrower FOV then 24/25/30 fps, which is a shame (other cam brands have similar issues though, I still don't understand what FOV has to do with FPS). Also worth noting is that you can better always film in Post-Flowstate and do the stabilization on the PC. It saves a lot of processing power and thus battery lives longer. Cam also overheats less easy then with Flowstate on. In Post-Flowstate the recording resolution in some cases is actually higher. 4K-30 Post-Flow state for example has an actual recording resolution of 4352x2448 instead of 3840x2160. This is so you can apply post stabilization without loosing data and sharpness. Drawback is only 80Mbit instead of 100Mbit with 5,3K and 4K60. I agree with sharpness to Medium, maybe High. But Low is too unsharp and VeryHigh is too pixelated. Low Light performance is excellent. Way WAY better then the 4K Boost Lens mod for this camera I also own. To me the 4K Boos Lens has a really bad image quality, no matter what settings. Worst action cam purchase so far. This 1 Inch Leica Lens however is the very best purchase!! It's expensive but you have awesome quality.

Does this camera have 10bit output, eventually flat profile? To be precise: 4k & 60p & 10bit & 100+mbps?

No this cam has no 10-bit output. I don't know any actioncam which has 10-bit output.

looks great, they still stock it in one of my local store, but my concern is the glass is so big it might easily get scratched, any thoughts ?

You can buy replacement and you lense is still saved its just cover

The glass surface is screw-on screw-off. You can also replace it with a circular polarizer for example (3rd party brands, I have 1). The actual camera lens is behind the glass. And when using it with a little care you don't scratch it.

I had 2 insta 360 r one and 360 rs..and after few weeks the both started having issues..over heating...water in the lense..and the core not turning in again...very disappointing...the quality of the picture abd video is fantastic...but the modular system is not 100% well designed.... I will not buy the insta modular specifically if you do more action water sport.

Depends on settings and situation. 60 fps without airflow around it in hot environment may overheat indeed. When using it for action (bike, motor, car) with airflow, or on a tripod for timelapse recording, nothing overheats.
