Great that you addressed these issues. Now you can appreciate the issues I had with my One R 360 MOD at the beginning, fogging, voice command, etc. I was pretty mad with your honest review video back in the day when you didn't mention this common problem after insta gave you the camera lol. Thanks for the good wishes - yes, subs growing but not at a rate where the channel stays viable unfortunately - not at my current level of production anyway. So I may need to scale back or stop. @@TheTechPacker just hang in there and keep plodding away. Your content is excellent and well presented. You'll suddenly just take off. You wait. I've got on board with some other KZbinrs being one of the first hundred subscribers and they plodded along for a year and all of a sudden they went from a couple of hundred to 20k+ in a few months. Insta360 is getting bigger and bigger and you're well established now. I'm still struggling to get 1000 subs and I'm so close, but I've had my channel fir about 12+ years lol.

Have you also experienced a delay in the built-in audio? So far I've used the mobile app (Android) to recompose my clips and exported the reframed clips as mp4. I the took those clips to put them together to a full video using a Magix Software on my microsoft computer. There, I have to offset the sound 11 frames because of the delay. I could live with it, but the inbuilt sound quality is anyway totally unuseful either... I am really considering upgrading to a Rode wireless go with a proper lavalier mic. Ah, and I too have a very low sound level. I have to raise it significantly in the processing software. Besides from that, the ONE X2 is very, very useful for me, so I'm happy after all. If they only didn't have this sound issue...

Finally a KZbin video that exposes some of the dark underbelly thank you. My camera has been on back order for six weeks and I was told maybe another four weeks by Insta 360 customer service. I was willing to wait but now I see there’s no hurry because they’re following the industry standard ( i’m looking at you DJI Osmo pocket ) of shipping out beta versions. I’ll be canceling my order and Will gladly wait another six months to a year for them to work out The bugs so I don’t have to stare at the camera sitting on my counter waiting for the fixes that should’ve been taken care of before initial shipments were sent out.

They're pretty quick with software fixes - at least most of them, most of the time. Pretty much all cameras these days are released at late beta stage I think. Partly driven by marketing. I don't mind the 80/20 rule, but in recent times it feels more like 70% ready - and in some cases, less. That is unacceptable.

Thanks for the update. I too noticed the 'red dot' and thought it was just me. Glad to see someone else is reporting this as well. Hopefully fixable via firmware update. A quick question here - what are seems to be the easiest (on the go) method to footage in?

Hi, congratulations on the great content! I have a GoPro MAX at this moment but HATE the workflow and the mediocre software features on Windows. I was thinking about switching to Insta360 ONE X2 but I have a couple of questions: 1 - Is there a gap between the files generated for long video recordings? That was a problem for me with the ONE R where there would be a 2-second interruption every time a new file was created. 2 - Is it possible to use the camera without the battery, using ONLY USB power? I use this technique to be able to record long concerts without overheating issues. Thanks!!

Did any of these issues get resolved yet? I just bought one (in shipment) but now I'm scared. I'm considering returning it without opening it, after watching this. My OneX doesn't have any problems like this. I upgraded for the better bitrate and battery life. But if it's going to have these problems, I'll stick with my OneX.

Great video for my evaluation prior purchasing the insta360 one x2. There is one more issue that I found out when I purchased it. Under the USB mode, there is no iOS for my camera! Anyone faced the same issue? How do we fix it?

Intermittently, it can switch itself on now. And when turned off, it can’t be switched on again unless battery was reinstalled, or usb power attached. This all happened recently after the addition for the quick reader update.

Coming from the Insta 360 one, now with a X2. When I use viewfinder to edit my video it constantly flips and freezes on the opposite lens until I point down a little. This is making the camera unusable for me and I'm considering returning if its not fixed by the time I record and edit my next video.

Had the ONE X2 a week or so now and in every photo and video I always get a redy purply blotch. When I look closely at the lens on both sides there is a 5 sided dotted (whitey green) pentagon shape inside near lens and then a little deeper inside is the wee redy purple spot, they move as I move the camera. Are they meant to be there, are they meant to show up visible in the lens even when the x2 is switched off? Is that what’s causing the red purply blotch? Can’t believe they can release the camera to the market with this issue, feeling sad and disappointed about it. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Dear Sarb Johal: Today first time I used to make 360 video, that was just over 2 minutes. During making video or to see different options & setting, scrolling in the camera for minute or for two minutes, I experienced that the battery chamber from the outside was overheated (too much), and pinching hands while holding in the hands due to heat. The battery also gets heat up but too much as an outside chamber. Is there any solution available? I contacted Insta360, they said it is common problem to electronic items, install firmware v1.0.9_build1 (which is already installed).

Hi is it true that it’s better. To buy from Apple insta360 x2 because of the usb cable . You can transfer files quicker by USB connectivity than wireless . The device that we buy from the official online store doesn’t support wire connectivity 🤨

One X2 bought a few months ago, firmware version is v1.0.41_build1. The camera works well and I record even very long movies, but sometimes it stops them for no reason and turns off. Also, starting the recording directly from off, sometimes it tells me "no SD card detected" and turns off, trying again it works. It seems these problems are random, I am using 2 SanDisk Extreme Pro 128gb U3 A2 V30. I'm afraid to send it in for assistance because when I go home to try it it never gives me any problems, then when I go out it gives me them. Do I send you for assistance or am I waiting for a new firmware?

I have recived my Insta360 one x2 yesturday, tried it out and on the sttiching the camara is filming from each camara with a diferent lighting/colors that you can see on the video, half the image is darker that the other ¿? not sure if its the camara? the lens protectors or somethink in the settings.? but very Fustrating.... Hi can you run a test on this camera. To exhaust the battery recording 360 without it overheating. I think this is a design fault with every single one. Please send reply if you manage to test this. Or try without battery still overheating Thank you Les

Is not only the One X2 suffering from the issues you describe, my One X is doing the same thing and the only work around was to use the old APP for the One X, not to mention how they block features that the hardware is capable of doing by having 3+ different Apps for each camera, looking at the videos from the One X and One X2, I can't justify the jump, heck; even the video stitching from the One X is better after editing!

The warping distortion or, jelly effect as you called it, I think has something to do with the way dynamic stitching works on the fly. I have noticed that too. It happens the most when the subjects are close to the edge where the stitching occurs in real-time. It is more pronounced when you shoot trees and when close to a rectangular frame, like a door or window.

Hi there - you would get much better resolution and results from taking a specific photo - and you can use Pureshot too. If you really have to, then you could grab a frame from the video, but the quality would be nowhere near as good. Hope that helps!

Unstable connection. Everytime i try to export 360 picture, it loses connection at approx 4% of exporting. So i can not export a single 360 picture. Battery life around 1h or less. Could anyone explain me why it MUST be connected to GPS? It requires to connect to bluetooth, wifi, GPS. Why? Why not just wifi?

At least yours works, i wish those were my only problems. Bought mine with a 16gb stick, filled that up in 10 minutes, not wanting to get caught when away i purchased a 64g next day, camera glitches and stops filming after 2 seconds, then locks up. Then bought an ultra fast 170gig per second128gb sd and same thing. It locks up and i have to hold the button down for 7 seconds to turn it off every time. I cleared the original sd and tried that but same thing. Now im out over $100 on 2 sd cards and still no camera! Ive had it for a week and tried multiple times every day to make it work. Australian online sellers " help line" hasnt responded so ill be asking to return it tomorrow, im over it!

I have plenty of issues in my one week usage of this camera. I’ll be contacting the support team with all my videos documenting my screen glitches, and corrupt files. I’m gonna make one week review by the end of this week. So far, I like all the reframing shots that I had hoped to create with this camera. My starlapse is solid, and the 360 3K 100fps is what I wanted this camera for. But, the issues are quite annoying. Keep up the good work!

Had my ine x2 for two months now ive used it with extra care actually i seldom use it neber used it under water .Now i have issues with it first i noticed when i try to open the videos it wont play and it will disconnect . I thought maybe the sandisc 64 gd sd card us full already thtas why i deleted all the contents and formated the sd card but uts still the same , I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it now its having hard time to connect and when connected still the same cant play videos . I wonder whats wrong do i have a bad unit or its just tge sd card?

Thanks for the video. Just got the new camera. We did a driving podcast and video'd for 30 minutes. Got back home to download the camera sd card to my computer and it only downloaded still pics. Went to replay on the 360 itself and the video is Gone! What the hell is that? Did we actually push a button and delete it? Did the 360 delete it? Is this one button too sensative? I got mine today and tested it all day. Aside from the red dot, I have experienced EXACTLY the same problems one by one. I'm on the latest firmware (I assume I am because when I first connected the camera the first time to my phone and set everything up, the first thing was the firmware to get updated. A little bit disappointed and worried and hoping all this will get fixed soon.

Hi Sarb.,sure they'll fix it. This is s new product, one month old. They'll get it right soon enough. I just hope they do bug fixes ahead of adding more features that seems unfortunately to be the trends with manufacturers, while the new features on top of that, usually introduce even more new bugs. Lets see how it goes. I give any product a 6 months cycle of fixes before its ready and usually never rush to buy it when immediately released. In the case of the One X2 I was upgrading (finally) from a almost 3 years old One and felt was time. Thanks again for your video that I believe its important because it helps the folks at Insta360 be more readily aware of whats going on.

@@TheTechPacker Coincidentally, I will be in Rotorua for a couple of months (my partner's home town) then we will likely set our roots down in Wellington. I saw your recent Luge/Skyline vid and it brought back some amazing memories of my last trip there in 2017. I've pretty much watched your last 10 vids now (and others on KZbin) and am leaning more towards the One R Twin edition, but, I have seen lots of reports of issues online about it overheating/lens fog etc. Have you had any issues with this, and this considered would you recommend that I get the One X2 instead to avoid problems? Ah, I’m based in Wellington so def give me a shout when you’re here. I’ve had nonce of those issues with the One R. Comes down to form factor and use. If you need 4K action video, the twin pack One R is the best bet. If 1440p flat video is good enough and you prefer the form of the X2 then that’s the one. Personally, I’m not a fan of the cage of the One R - but that a personal preference - image wise, there’s v little to choose apart from a few things like pureshot 360 on the X2.

My camera was working perfect, then safely put away, so a year later i decided to use camera, i thought ok update the firmware and have it nice and up to date, done it the correct way but the touchscreen has stopped working, it turns on but no buttons work, ive tried contacting support a few times, they ask what the problem is, i explain to them and they wont reply. Can anyone help please

I've had my One X2 for a couple weeks now, so I haven't be able to use it much, but one problem is that, for the life of me, I can NOT get my airpods (generation 2) to connect. Thanks for sharing - managed to get my airpods pro to connect ok, but it took a few gos, trying to switch things on and pair in various different orders. Took a few goes and a few time outs though, so couldn't tell you exactly what did the trick. Will test audio quality v soon.

Is the jittery tracking from using deep track with the image centering activated. I’m finding that using automatic image centering is inferior to leaving that off.

Please keep me updated on whether or not the stitching gets better, video highlights aren't blown out, if the jello effect gets removed, camera freezing up and if the red light is somehow removed without compromising the video quality. All of those problems sound very familiar to the problems the fly 360 cameras had, that could not be corrected with firmware updates. I think that company is no longer around, since they had too many issues that weren't being fixed. In the end, the problems were in the poor design, technology and build quality.

Hello sir, Regarding Insta360 One R, I am planning to buy that but I have a big concern, Do I need to have high-end mobile to edit the video, or I can import video files on the computer and edit it? Does the fog issue still occurs? Does it still heat up quickly?

It does heat up quickly but I’ve never had it shut down. But it may be hotter where you are compared to where I live, meaning it could be a risk. I’ve not had the fogging issue. You can import to computer and use the desktop studio to edit and export. Check the Insta360 website for recommended specs for mobile devices and computer specs needed to run their software. It changes so I don’t want any info I offer here to be out of date. Hope that helps.

The first 3 videos I recorded went like this... Hit the record button and all is well for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds then it stopped recording and put the banner on the screen that voice command stopped the recording. The only problem was I was by myself in the woods and not talking. The camera was locked up and I had to power down and back up to fix. Then I hit record again and it recorded for 1 second before flashing a red banner on the screen that went away before I could read it. I hit record again with the same result. I was watching the screen for the banner but it just flashed on and off quickly. I restarted the camera and recorded about 20 more clips with no probelms.

I’m disappointed in my X2, it just quits at random after a few minutes. I’ve tried different v30 & U3 cards that are rated for the needed speed but I still have issues with the camera just turning off at random while filming. Have you found any work arounds for this issue? Seems like loads of people are having the same problem on both the one r and the one x2 . I have the One X2.

I have the same problem and I want to understand if I have to send her to assistance or if it is "normal" that this happens. Sometimes while she is recording she randomly shuts down and stops the video, but she does it occasionally because otherwise she records everything. Other times I start it and it says "no SD detected" and it turns off, then I restart it and it works without problems. I do not know what to do.

Same problem, camera stops by itself or freezes on saving . And i've got the one and x2 . Very randomly, for example the x2 yesterday catched 2 hours non stop of my live concert. And last week stopped after 8 minutes of my mini show, had to rehit button while i was singing ! Very weird an annoying .

I received my One X2 only 3 weeks ago, but I have none of the issues mentioned here, except for the red dot. When I hide the sun behind a tree brench the dot is gone, but that's not always an option. For the rest my X2 works great 👍

Just purchased mine, unboxed it, put the lens protectir, updated the firmware and now one lens is not working and crashing the cam after 20 seconds after turning it on.. it cannot connect to phone anymore and the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery. Is this a DOA unit?

Quick update: I went back to Aviteh (local pro video gear dealer) and they offered me a replacement no questions asked. New unit is working properly, updated just fine, and starts to look like the best purchase in a while :) I really love my X2

I opened my set today and experienced the same thing. Front lens not working, display completely garbled and unable to read the content or swipe. Unable to remove the Micro SD card. It doesn't spring back up when pressed. Very disappointed with this camera. Regretted buying it because it has so many unresolved issues upon unboxing. Be sure to buy this from a local store in your country. It may cost more but at least you can bring it back if there are problems.

If/when the manufacturer fixes these problems, I'll buy one. Meanwhile, I hope you find a solution.

I do feel like it isn't as good - I put it down to the thickness of the camera - not as bad at the One R, but not as good as the One X. Or do you think its something else?

@@TheTechPacker please do a side by side comparison of the x1 and x2 thickness of each camera body. If the x2 is thicker than the x1, there's your answer as to why the stitching quality is worse than the x1. There's no firmware update that will improve stitching quality on a thicker camera body. The x1 has the best stitching quality, because of its thin body size, much easier to stitch cleaner looking footage.

I feel like with the insta360 I'm in a big beta testing program. Using 3 differnt Android phones they all have major issues. The product experience is so bad. Customer support is 3 days just to get a response.

I’m struggling with studio … the deep track fails and stops as soon as it starts. I can click and yellow out my subject to track, tick the keep centre box, press go and it starts for about a 10th of a second then stops 🤔

I've got an issue where one half of my 360 video is darker than the other half. Its almost as if the two lenses are on differnt exposures and there is a clear "halo" on one side where as the other side is much lighter. I recirded abiut 20 minutes of footage and everyone of them had this difference in exposure. Doesn't look like a 360 video any more. Can you help me fix this?

@@realcovers yes i realized it only shows that line /halo in the preview on the app. Once you export the video the line goes away almost completely. Enough that it doesnt become instantly apparent.

I am. Purplish bands and static appear after anywhere from a few seconds to a minute after I begin shooting. I've rebooted, removed battery, reformatted the card, replaced the card, updated firmware. No solution yet.

My One x2 died during firmware update. Only constant blue light and no more sound and display There is no possibility for a hardware reset on the device so that it accesses the SD card again to reinstall firmware. All you have to do is return the device to the dealer. I only advise against buying a camera from Insta360. Especially since these cameras all have a recording limit of almost 30 minutes to pay import duty. Cameras that record less than 30 minutes at a time are taxed more favorably than a photo camera when imported. The support is terrible and always wants video or if the camera was in the water. Old Chinese pattern and you always have to pay for the repair yourself. So never buy from Insta360 yourself and only from a local dealer, this is the only way to ensure the guarantee. Otherwise you pay the transport costs to Hong Kong yourself. There are few videos that show the truth as Insta360 has a good handle on its influencers. So keep an eye out for Chinese products that are advertised with such hype. The technology of Insta360 lacks the most normal technical facilities such as the hardware rest already described.
