Two things I have noticed with the insta360 one inch 1. To separate the screen from the battery dont bend use your finger nail to separate the two halves. 2. Use ONLY fast memory. To identify a fast card a memory card, the card must have a picture of a number 3 inside the letter U. If you dont use this specification nothing works correctly.

Great compare Kevin - I'll still be using my Qoocam for some things - the fast internal memory (and SD slot), is convenient, also the smaller size/weight. The *much* bigger 1" sensor on the new insta sure is fantastic in low light situations, and will compliment my Qoocam. I even sometimes still carry around and use my Mi Sphere 360, so nice and portable and for photos it does an ok job.

It's got a smaller size/weight but I think the extra thickness of the new Insta360 is worth the heavy lifting ;)

Great video and love your content. Question for you, I just got the One RS 1” 360. Upgrading from my trusty one x2. What is the difference from shooting HDR and the Pureshot modes as options when shooting photos. Also have you seen how todo the DNG stacking up to 9 images. I heard about (online) it but can’t find where that setting is. Thank you in advance for your help.

surprised the daylight insta 1" seems to outresolve the QooCam. but as always dots are not everything, its what you do with them.
@KevinKunze2 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Resolution is just a marketing word at the end of the day. The real question is: does it look better and sharper (that's what we expect higher res will do)
@bophoto2 жыл бұрын
@@KevinKunze another fascinating thing is how dots in a line resolve differently than random film-grains. and with us unwrapping spherical shots the original pixels (resolution) tend to become almost irrelevant, and the processing likely also have a large responsibility for end results. just picked up a couple backup new-in-box QooCam's - but seems I should grab a insta 1" next time.
@nowandrew44422 жыл бұрын
Why? Its sensor is much much bigger.
@Sailing3602 жыл бұрын
@@nowandrew4442 pretty sure its the same sensor size, its not 1" its "1 inch type" which is taken from the TV camera tubes of the seventies, and adopted to advertise 14mm sensors.- at least based on Kevin's comment they are both 1" type. so its more about what they are doing with the sensor, and clearly also the quality of that sensor, part of that, smaller pixel bins on the 8K sensor gets less light each and therefor more noise, the lower resolution same size sensor get more light per bin and better colors.. which seems to win the day.

What are you **talking** about, the X2 is just as cumbersome for getting to the SD card. How is taking out the battery in any way convenient? The only good setup is the R/RS. Don't even need to turn the camera off. *That* is convenient. Or the Qoocam also,, right there on the side. Perfect. And btw Qoocam 8K uses 1/1.7" sensors, not 1" my man.

@KevinKunze2 жыл бұрын
Good to know on the slightly bigger sensor for Kando. I don't think the X2 is cumbersome. Also, you never want to remove a card when the camera is on...ever. That's how corruption happens.
@nowandrew44422 жыл бұрын
@@KevinKunze it's not "slightly". It's much much bigger. About 2.5x the area. So..not at all a minor difference. Also, do you always turn your PC off before you unplug a USB stick? No, you don't. USB isn't that fragile..it works just fine unless you're literally in the middle of writing data. So please quit the hysteria. Mention the risk, sure. But don't tell people it's the end of the world when it's not.

yep. I have also used Mi Sphere, One X, Onex 2 and 3 Qoocam 8k. Just had to give up on Inst360s because my bicycle ride videos had gaps every half-hour. Big ones. Qoocam 8k is a pain, and I have had 2 batteries fail. Also, one was not sharp straight forward, just to the sides. I will continue with Qoocam rather than going back 6 hours on the bus to replace the gaps in my footage. Hardly anyone mentions this problem.@@KevinKunze

Insta360 RS 1 is better in many areas but I don't like how it struggles with shadows in daylight. The contrast is painful a bit compared to the Kandao 8K. Maybe with future firmware update they could remedy that a bit...
