I hope they release a version with an upgraded 1 inch sensor for better low light performance instead of the half inch sensor in the X4! The camera is absolutely amazing with 8K H265 @ 200Mbit/s. But the night shots looks too dark for my liking.

Great video love it, thanks! so watching this in youtube there is almost no noise in the video. Is that your findings as well? how does the low light compare side by side to the X3 and the Ace Pro pure video mode?
@james.loxton7 ай бұрын
glad u liked it 😎 yes! I was surprised how little noise there is, I do think the insta360 studio does some noise removal when u export each clip (even if u don’t ask it to) because when I watch the clips back in the studio before exporting there is a lot of noise. the ace pro definitely performs the best in low light against the X3 & X4

How is the stabilisation smooth when it's off? Did you use gyro flow software? Also does it store gyro data?
@james.loxton7 ай бұрын
insta360’s flowstate stabilization was turned on, when it’s off the footage is basically not really usable cos it’s all over the place. it can be adjusted inside the studio app

I'm new in vlogging and tested the Insta360 X4 in low light too, I found it grainy on my videos. But after watching vlog, I must try your tips and adjust the best settings for Insta360X4 thanks
@james.loxton7 ай бұрын
yeah it’s not the best in low light but slightly better than the X3, all we need is a bigger sensor and we are good to go! but yeah mess around with some of the settings I used and u can get some useable results 😎

Thanks for this great review! Well done! The low-light quality from this camera is terrible. I used it this year at the Burning Man festival, and the nighttime images were just awful. I hope DJI releases a better 360 product soon. In the meantime, I'll keep filming at night with my Canon R5 Mark II 🙂

I left you a like coz all other videos are so annoying with ppl giving lengthy intro's and not getting to the point. Imagine you just want some example footage for low light recording and see tons of vids with ppl talking endlessly about themselves and begging for subs without delivering first.

for anyone wondering... You can upscale this and make it 10x better.

So…can you tell us the settings for 10x better XD
@TheReallyBadChannel6 ай бұрын
@@ElKingosDelTrap Put it in an Ai up scaler of your choosing. I use Topaz video Ai. I normally just run the proteus model, and upscale to 8k. For 360 footage, you likely need to throw in some stabilization, and frame interpolation. You can up the frame rate if you only shot in 30fps. I add some de-noising, and sharpening, and that's about it.

I would have to agree. This camera is good for daylight only, low light is just too dark. I tested this using my Samsung s23 Plus And it's miles ahead of the X4. I tried it in auto mode and manual.

@@james.loxton such a pity that the Pocket 3 is not a 360 camera though. I love the fact that I can do different types of reframing edits, including quick pans and jump cuts, so I'll wait a 1" version to come, hopefully later this year.

what did u want me to do? walk around in pitch dark? a setting like this is what a lot of people will be filming in, low light with some lights around
@TMacsAmericanexperience7 ай бұрын
@@james.loxton yes I wanted to see how it would operate in the dark. I don’t live in a city, I don’t like to be in the city, but I like to record out in the country where it is very dark. and I am trying to find a camera that actually works with the claim of being able to video at night. It seems like every camera that advertises it skirts around that issue and never really answers the question.
@james.loxton7 ай бұрын
ah I see! yeah this is definitely not the camera for that! I would recommend the DJI pocket 3 as it’s much better in low light due to its bigger sensor. I do have a low light test video with that camera but it’s walking round the city again so probably not what u want to see but maybe search KZbin for another low light video on the pocket 3 in darker situations to see if u like the look of that
