Hi, do you know if the X4 will work with the original wireless go? I am not sure why the jack adapter would present a problem and the original mic is still thinner than the camera so should fit into the stitch zone. I may have to get one and try it but trying to check beforehand.

Hi Darren, I bought it as I saw that the video quality is so much better now. The big benefit is that you can select the perspective later and it looks like you have used two or three cameras in parallel.

WHYYYYYY are interval options removed in the 8K Timelapse mode in X4?? It is literally worse than the X3 on top of the minimum shutter speed now at 1/40 instead of 1/30. WHYYYY???????

Buyer beware on all these videos - this is KZbinr influencer at its HIGHEST - the embargo has lifted - there are 50 videos out there about this "ACTION CAMERA" - and what NONE OF THEM TELL YOU - is that these lenses are DELICATE - like you WILL SCRATCH the lens in snow - or on a bike trail - or a dropping it on a table - and then - it will cost (at least it did on previous models) $99 to fix it - or all your footage will have a smudge from the scratch. Also - you have to write an email to them explaining it - then wait 4 weeks for a reply - then fill out a form and pay the $99 plus shipping - to CHINA - then - wait another 4 weeks - until you get our camera back.....ALL of these videos got a FREE camera - and then went snowboarding - and if they had to pay $500 for the camera - then another $99 if they dropped it in the snow - which WILL scratch it - they would not use it. The lens guards dont work - in fact I had one scratch my actual lens when the camera hit the ground while not even snowboarding - SLEDDING on a bunny hill! BUYER BEWARE! These are just commercials for free cameras given to influencers.

Insta has addressed the two main drawbacks for me. Quality imagery and screen protection. I scratched my X3 by just touching a tree branch. I had the damage coverage and I am glad they replaced it but I had no camera for 3 weeks. The previous sticky lenses were just unusable so I am glad to see that they added an easy to use apply and remove protection. I understand they provide plastic ones in the box and Premium lenses sold separately. Have you reviewed with both?

Darren I thought this was a nice overview, as always to be honest. I had no idea how. Much better these cameras are compared to the gopro 360, especially the software, I need to get one. It's like a Swiss army knife of cams!!!

I have the X3. Struggles in low light. How is the X4 in low light? Like the resolution bump & the lense covers. Great cameras though. Use it skiing & biking.

We defo need some sample footage in Lakeland conditions. All the videos I’ve seen to date are filmed in bright sunlight, but here in the LD we know it’s challenging to get bright shiny footage 😂😂😂

Hey man, I trust your opinion. I have the X3 currently for filming group bicycle rides at night. It struggles with low light. Do you see any improvement over the X3 with night-filming? What do you suggest for filming streets at night? So far, an iPhone seems to get the best footage, but its a struggles to film AND ride. Thanks for any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

Not much better in low light if better at all. The Ace Pro is better in low light but it's not 360, of course.

So my friend am a subscriber of your KZbin channel Here's the thing I started of with the gear 360 But upgraded to the x3 witch I found to be just ok for a KZbin video so my question to you does the 360 footage look way better than the x3 cos on the x3 for a 360 video really isn't that good the pictures are outstanding but the video on the 360 is Will say not that good I already know you get payment for making videos for them but am still not seeing a 360 video unedited 360 video From you or anyone else

It's definitely better, but that's just my opinion. "Way" better? Not sure. Define "way". True 8k spread across the sphere compared to 5.7k over the same area is a significant improvement. Question though: How many platforms support 8k 360 video? And how large is the audience for 360 video in any resolution? You don't see much 360 footage from ANY camera because very few people actually care about it. Most viewers are still primarily interested in something close to the 16:9 aspect ratio (or its vertical counterpart due to the popular platforms). And even cropped-in 8k footage will also look better than cropped-in 5.7k footage.

The 8k is a noticeable improvement and probably the best , if you use slow motion a lot then the 5.7k looks the same. For me I’ll just use 8k

2:07 - Insta360 X3 also exports in 4K - just have to slect "Custom" when you are exporting.

If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4. The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.

When shooting video in HDR mode it does not allow you to do 8K. It lowers to 5.7k

Yes it’s capturing a 8k image on both lenses which allows you to crop in and adjust the main image output. The 5.7k exported at 1080p after a 5.7k capture

I got the x3, I want to like the X4 but it still sucks and is overpriced, same crappy 1/2" sensor, zero low light improvement. now the x4 is bigger and heavier but tubers just don't make a deal out of this. I haven't heard anyone be critical of this x4 release. I'm waiting for the DJI Action 5 to come out for true 4k low light shoothing that will put these overpriced junk to shame. The 360 novalty is kind of wearing off for me with the poor quality of rendered video you end up with. I agree its nice to sometimes be able to shoot without framing, and maybe this is enough for some people to over pay for mediocre videos. Had I not got the x3, I might be inclined to get the x4 (for novelty sake). however as a unhappy x3 owner I am going over to DJI, I've seen the light.

The entire spherical footage is 8k, what you end up reframing is typically resulting in a 4k or 2.7k final video

I use these cameras to shoot for VR. The X3 footage looks blurry in the VR headset. This X4 should look much better.
