I never message them until they message me first. And i just replace the items that are not there on my own choice. If they don't want it, they will message me and then i do what they want me to do. Your way of shopping is the right way. I'm just lazy.. hahaha

today I had a good batch! they tipped me on the app and even texted me saying they left a cash tip for me in an envelope taped to the garage. They were very sweet. So I made $45 from them! So sweet

I had a pretty nice double batch today also. I normally try not to for doubles unless i get caught in a drought so when i accepted it was gonna pay 25 bucks for 30 items and about 3 miles altogether and the first dropoff the customers husband came out with 20 bucks cause he didnt think his wife put a tip on there which i actually think she did and when i dropped off the second order they left a $20 tip in an envelope taped to the door. I know its rare that it happens but that just goes to show you that if its a low item count and sucky pay and low miles but your kinda familiar with the store and your already close by you might as well take it because they might tip cash also. I would much rather do that than wait 15-20 min for a big order with big pay but have to drive 20 minutes to a store you never been to before and then drive another 7-8 miles to drop it off.

If it hasn't been said already, claussen pickles are refrigerated and are usually found in the deli/meat area, not the normal pickle area on the shelf ♥️

😂😂 Trust me...it has been said. At least 10 times a day I get a comment that the pickles are in the refrigerator. These pickles have become the bane of my existence 🤣🤣

Devil's Advocate I actually ended up finding the brand but not the flavor she wanted. I took about 5 pics (shelved and refrigerated )and sent it to the customer but she didn’t want any of the options.

Today was my first day also. The first batch had a little learning curve. I did exactly what dimples did. Always use good communication with customer. I actually got an extra $5 tip by cash today and a drink. I made $90 on 3 trips. Brooklyn We Go Hard!! No lysol ever and only 2 waters. Lol

Thank you for showing a good example in this video to other shoppers/new shoppers. I communicate heavily with my customers and make sure I protect myself and my customers with gloves/sanitizer. I see a lot of shoppers breeze through their batches-produce specifically and it's unfortunate. If you wouldn't want an item, the customer won't either. I also make more money in tips that way, and the customer ends up happy-it's a win/win. Awesome job, keep it up!

I communicate and send pictures when needed while I am shopping for the customer. At the end I take a picture and send it through the messaging app, this way it’s documented.

@@DimplesonDemand So I worked my first 2 days, and boy am I tired lol. Overall I like it. However, it is just so frustrating and discouraging with so many items out of stock. Today was incredibly frustrating when during one of my orders, there was an outage problem with Verizon in my area so I had limited internet to no connection. Had to leave my cart and go out to my car to figure out the issue. Had a hard time with replacements and such. Luckily the customer was very kind and understanding. BTW thank you so much for your lesson on customer service/communication. I have been doing exactly what you do and they are very pleased each time. I just have to work on my speed in which I shop. Does that tend to get better over time? Thanks again for being so awesome and your great videos!

Yes your speed will get better but because of the current situation certain things are out of your control. IC knows that and so should the customers. As things go back to normal you will be zipping in and out of the store with no problems. I’m glad you getting the hang of it and I hope you will continue with IC. IC allows you to use what ever navigation you choose. GPS is my best friend as well. lol You can do Target, CVS, Petco on Instacart. Not only grocery stores.

Love seeing your subscribers base grow. Wanted to update you I completed my first shift today and made 100 bucks. So proud of myself was really fun. It was a bit stressful the first order that had 50 items but I wanted to get out there. But it was fun and easier as I took more orders. One thing that did get me was the double order that I thought was one order or that I thought they lived in the same complex. Also one mistake delivered one of the double order items to the wrong customer, but it was corrected depended on my daughter on that order was also the mistake.

Oh yeah, just wanted to say that refrigertated pickles are in a class of its own. Clauesen's happent to be my favorite brand, too and when the store is out of those; I just go without until they stock more in. I could never eat a pickle that's not in the refrigerated section.

The things that people eat are freakin amazing, the things that i never heard of. It's very annoying waste of time looking for those items. Sometimes even the employees don't know what it is. So i stay away stores like Whole foods, Bi Rite, etc.. stick to the stores your familiar with..

If you have gloves on, you should try to keep your ‘contaminated’ hands away from your face as much as possible. So taking your mask on and off using your ‘contaminated’ hands isn’t a good idea. Awesome video! I need to invest in some of those bags. Where I live, people have very long driveways so those could save me a few trips.

I do instacart and I had the same pickles in an order today and I couldn't find that brand in the pickle isle and I ended up finding them where the cheese is so those pickles are basically refrigerated.

i hate when customers want sanitizer wipes, toilet paper and 6 baby formula's when you're only allowed 1 of each item and they never believe you. I've had someone take away a $20 tip. ridiculous. and when its a huge order and you try to make replacements based off what they picked as secondary or third and you're stuck replacing almost every thing on their list and they just make changes on your replacements of what you have already said are out of stock. and you end up running around the store otherwise it would take you days lol. some customers are bad some are good i wish you could rate customer lol

Cancellation and ratings are graded separately. It’s best to keep cancellations under 15% but I just could not wait in line. I didn’t want to lol. I don’t encourage cancellation but if you have to...then do it.

I just got wrongfully deactivated basically a customer said her groceries weren't deliver after she was supposed to come and get them from me personally out the parking garage I took pics and everything but I won't let this bring me down it's just bs if you ask me... I haven't started to shop yet (just got my approval yesterday) and I am a little late to the game. Anyhow, anyone reading this (including the OP), there's an app for both Apple and Android that is called "Timestamp Camera". It not only stamps the time but also stamps the GPS location which shows the street addess. This is a CYA for anyone. It's not 100% reliable (I don't understand why as I tried it at a location I had trouble getting a cell signal, it should be independent of the cell tower) but another IC shopper says to take a couple of pics. One at the door and one with the address # as well. If you're in an apartment building, I guess a door # should suffice. Hope you got reactivated!

i had a v good order today! it was $70 upfront ($50 of it was the tip from the customer). less than 1 mile from the store that i was already at. it was my biggest order ever. i’ve only been doing ic for about a week. it was 66 items, 99 units. total came out to $500 (they ordered 12 bottles of wine). when i pulled up, they were so gracious. it was 7 ppl in the home and they were v scared of one of the family members catching covid-19. after the groceries were unloaded they gave me a envelope w a card and in the card w a note and was another $40. so total, i made $110 for about 2.5 hours of work. but more importantly i felt appreciated!

i need to work on communication w the customer. i usually don’t ever say anything if i find everything they need/find adequate replacements. and thanks for the tip about weighing everything once you have all the produce. time saver! i have one question: do you let customers help you get groceries? i usually take as many as i can to the door, ring/knock then start bringing in the rest so they can get what’s in front of their door without needing to come to my car.

I have thought about it. My dream car is as Tesla. Unfortunately I’m a struggling Millennial from Brooklyn trying to get my life together 😂😂. My rent is to high to afford any of the cars you mentioned. Until I can buy the car outright and not have to make any car payments I’ll make it work with my little Toyota. This was great advice.
