tuputa madre tuputa madre why do you have to bring people down so much, you must have had a bad life or something, I’m really sorry. Jacob is a great musician who is such a happy person and his ego never gets in the way. If you can’t let him be there’s no other reason than, dare I say, you’re “jeouls” of him. I would love to see you and your pro musician friends compose and execute some of the things that jacob has, I don’t want to over dramatize him but if you don’t think he’s special at all you’re tripping out of your mind. Have a nice day, hope life gets better!

This comment section is really weird haha I read like every comment and its a chaos out of Chris Martin dont be so shy, Jacob is flexxing, Jacob haters, weird musician narcissists Its music and theres no need to compete and compare each other. Lets just relax and enjoy what we hear everyone has his own taste and every musician is the greatest for someone. Theres no objective best musician🧡
@zynthio4 жыл бұрын
If you haven't watched alot of interviews or shows that have had Chris on, he is almost always like this. He's super charismatic but he also gets very shy. I think Chris was very shy and nervous in this because he recognizes how musically intelligent and talented Jacob is and any sane person would be just as nervous to be singing songs with him, even someone as famous as CM. Plus the fact that coldplay has always been criticized for how "simple" their music and have received a lot of undeserved hate over the many years of their careers. In reality, Chris is a musical genius in his own completely different way and has written SO MUCH incredible music. It makes me really happy to see a musician like Jacob showing so much respect for Chris. I am a massive Coldplay fan and Chris Martin fan, so despite the awkward bits in this, it made me really happy to see these two together

Two of the most awesome people on the planet chilling together. Chris' analogy with Amadeus was touching. Jacob has been put up on a high pedestal by the music world - for good reason - and anyone who has the chance to play music with him without feeling very humbled must have a big ego or must be a master at playing a role. Luckily Chris is a nice guy, and this video is a testament to his qualities.

I am just watching this a year later (I need to get Instagram so I can watch a live session!) and wanted to thank you Jacob for this beautiful concert of so many awesome songs, which you out your own twist on :) I absolutely love your voice, your personality, your amazing improvisation skills - you need to make an album with just piano and voice :) I am in awe with your incredible talent! You always put a smile on my face anytime I listen to your music and I also appreciate it's enormous complexity (speaking from the perspective of a classically trained pianist). As far as Chris goes - you handled the situation beautifully, you cannot help if someone is feeling insecure facing your enormous talent, you showed both your respect and love for him either way. Both complexity and simplicity have their place, so it is not one way or the other. And you are right, less is always more if you choose to do it that way after knowing how complexity (been listening to some of your interviews - oh my God, the one with Erik Whitacer?! Some seriously deep conversations right there!!). Anyways thank you for everything you do and for your beautiful soul and heart which is so rare to see these days, especially from people as famous as you. Love you ❤️❤️❤️

Thoughts on Jacob's collab with Chris: To put it plainly, their interaction during all Coldplay songs was awkward and can be attributed to their different approaches to music. Jacob's humanity can be seen in his musical technique choices alone--timbre, percussion, harmony, range, etc.. Chris's humanity can be seen in his lyrical commentary, instrumentation, and so on. I winced when Chris cutoff "Daddy" because he was uncomfortable with the musical choices Jacob made (and I agreed with him). Jacob did attempt to understand by asking "where did you write that song from?" And Chris told him flat out--missing fathers due to America's mass incarceration. But because Chris couldn't tell Jacob directly how he felt, the two of them missed out on an important discussion about interpretation and (in Chris's likely opinion) the cheapening of certain songs. The two musicians are equal heroes of mine, but in this instance, I felt sorry that Chris's songwriting wasn't fully recognized. ON A PLUS side... sparks was spectacular.
@joelikesthings3 жыл бұрын
I think psychoanalysing what people are thinking through be internet is never a good idea. There is a chance you could be right, but there's just as likely a chance that he truly just felt insecure about his music when hearing it played back to him through Jacobs lense. And also a chance it could 100 other things. Edit: I mean he seemed like he genuinely liked that version of sparks. But again, no point speculating on feelings of complex emotional individuals.
@rhyscollins92122 жыл бұрын
I just watched the rendition of "Daddy" that they played and I think Chris just really thinks what he said: that that song is a solitary song, a nighttime song. I don't think it was a dig at Jacob in terms of his interpretation at all, I think Chris simply wants to express the fact that the song was made and conceived with a more solitary base and expression :) I think they both really love each other's music and that this wasn't a disagreement on interpretation, though that conversation between them I agree would be very interesting (though I don't think cheapening would be quite the word that would be used XD)

I've written a few stupid songs, and it's strange the way that you feel disconnected from something that you made. From the outside looking in, you would think that you would have such ownership of it, and that it would feel like _your_ thing, but in my experience that isn't how it feels. In a sense, songs seem to have a life of their own, and ever since it's written down you are then doing "covers" of that song. Sure, you "own" it, but not _really._ I can't imagine what it's like to be popular worldwide, credited and applauded for being the owner of a song, when to you it feels like you've been covering it the whole time. Maybe that's how Chris feels when Jacob "covers" his song so well. Hey, you seem to be doing it better than I have. Also what the heck 1:17:00
