4:18 that's probably cured salmon and not the raw one that's why it's salty Breakfast sets like that usually have cured meats (i.e., bacon, cured salmon, prosciutto, salami).

Its smoked salmon and with the method of smoking comes the flavour of saltiness. Its part of the curing process.

Simple, this is Spore where cost is partially based on perceived value. That's why anything western or Japanese will cost more bcos they know they can get away with it.
