Nice video. I had an old Sears snowblower that was pretty heavy & cumbersome to mount but I got better at it with successive seasons. I like your suggestion that the blower should come with small wheels to assist in maneuvering it while attaching & removing. For my old machine I would slide a small mechanic’s dolly under it to assist when moving it which worked out well but think your recommendation is a better solution. Thanks again.

My neighbor Vern died and had this exact setup. His widow is left to care for all. I went to her house to set up her Cub Cadet tractor and snow thrower. No manual or knowledge of this machine. This thing is heavy especially as I age. Wow... Two suggestions: In spring, put the snow attachment on some form of a platform that is at the correct height to attach and remove the snow thrower. It is heavy and bulky. Or, have two people to do the job. Make sure to always put the retaining clips back in places that you removed them from. All in all not terribly difficult, but having assistance or a raised platform would help immensely. Vern also uses chains on the tires and a heavy weight on the rear of the tractor. NOTE: You do not take off the mounting brackets that you install for initial installation.

My brother passed away about a year ago and my sister in law really can’t lift the blower very well. Yes, I left the bracket on and reinstalled the mower. I don’t know why the manual says to remove it, but you’re right, not necessary. Thank you for watching

Thanks for the video, I'm considering getting a Cub Cadet XT2 with the snow blower however I'm 69 and have a bad shoulder. I'm wondering how hard it is to raise and lower the blower with the handle

it is heavy. my brother had this one and after he passed away, my sister-in-law could not lift it. I would recommend a JD x5xx series used with a blower. new are too pricey, but you can get a good used one for less than 1/2 the price of a new one. good luck!

I agree with you 100%. The quality and performance is very good, but the install is a poor design. If I had the room I would have bought a used tractor and kept the blower permanently attached as a dedicated snow remover. I’d then buy a zero radius turn mower for grass.

That’s a good idea as well. Cub cadet doesn’t do a great job of making their attachments easily changed out. Thank You for watching

They really made it a hard job to put snow throwers or even push blades on the newer cadets ! Kubota is much easier on the BX series. Never have to buy another tractor if you get a Kubota BX series. Last you a life time ! Have a Blessed Day

He liked it. He throws snow about 30’. It has a spring lift, but I’ve seen small electric winches mounted on the front to lift and lower it. My snow blowing experience has taught me to clean several times during a heavy storm(if you can).

I believe it's 19A40023100 42" 3x snow thrower. You may be able to find a leftover. Your dealer should be able to help you locate one. Good Luck and thank you for watching

You should not have to take off the brackets? I have the same tractor 2148 cub that preceded your model and switch back and forth. Good tractor so far!

I use a Harbor Freight moving dolly to store my blower on it is just the right height .

You leave that part on , do not have to remove to install deck or when you remove snow blower.

It’s not so much a military thing with not reusing nylon locknuts, it’s an aviation standard. If you reuse a locknut on an aircraft and it fails, you will be on the hook if an incident occurs because a new one wasn’t installed.

Thank You. While I didn’t work on aircraft in the Air Force, I worked on navigation, communications and weather equipment. I’m sure they adopted it as a standard. 😊
