In this Episode of the RC Stories Garage, we tackle a HUGE upgrade to the Axial SCX10 III Jeep JLU: DIG servo replacement.
DIG on the SCX10 III transmission is a real bugbear. It sounds like an awesome feature, but in practice it is very frustrating. Will it shift or won’t it? You just never know.
After months of thinking about possible solutions, I came up with a really rather simple way to replace the stock DIG micro-servo with a full-size low-profile servo. In this video I will show you what you need, and walk you through the installation process.
The upgrade is relatively cheap, considering the huge performance improvement you get. Plan on spending about $35US for miscellaneous parts, plus whatever you want to spend on a low-profile servo (which will cost you between $40US and $160US).
