My 2nd VW campervan was stolen so on my third I added a steering wheel clamp (£150) and proper wheel clamp, extra locks on each door (£500) a cut off switch (£60) chains on the inside doors, a padlock so the driving seat cannot be used and a tracker.

I'm not a caravaner myself but I've just bought one of these trackers. If someone put your van in a steel container then the tracker probably wouldn't work. There is a big overseas market for stolen vans and agricultural machinery. If it got nicked it would probably be taken to a port such as Harwich. A guy had an expensive bicycle stoles and taken to Poland. He tracked the guy down to his house with the Polish police in attendance and the suspect swore blind it was his bike. The true owner then got his phone out and made an alarm in the bike ring. So even if you track down your stolen property it could have it's identity changed but if the tracker is still functioning you can prove ownership.

Hi Brian hope your well buddy. As you say anything can be stolen I have this tracker a steering lock a clutch claw and movement detection camera so hopefully il keep it but you just never no buddy we live in hope. And hey get yourself a van or a caravan and enjoy the great outdoors buddy.

Yes but it has a motion sensor alarm bell /txt to your phone so this would give you half a chance to see it only the move and call the authorities 🕵️👍👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Hi mate I use 02 pay as you go. But had to ring them and tell them what I was using it for. I just send it a message every other day and for 2p it sends me it's location. I topped up £10 and it will only run out when I use all the 2p up.

How willing are the police to use the tracking data to find your van if the worst happens and it gets nicked I wonder. Also do you know if insurance companies accept it as a genuine tracking device and give you a better price.

Hi Mark hope your well, am not sure about the police I would hope they would secure it and I could pick it up. Although I'm not in any rush to find out lol. As for insurance I do get cheap insurance anyway from spitfire think fully comp is just over 300 pound with full no claims. Think it would need to be professionally fitted for them to discount anything.

Where did you get the info that it has 250 hours of battery. The manual says 72 hours.
