Install and testing f150 cabin air-filter retrofit

Install and testing of a ford f150 cabin air-filter retrofit kit from Infinity Overland. 2009 to 2014 f150 truck did not come installed with a cabin air filter. This retrofit kit adds a filter under the cowl of the truck and seals the air for proper operation. I did receive this product for free but i was not paid to review it.

I just installed one, seems to be blocking off all of the air flow (installed a new screen at the recirculating door) hardly any air flow coming through, unless it’s sucking air from the inside of the cabin then it flows freely, disappointed for sure.

I mean it's nice that they added an option for people with these trucks. But that seems like alot of work to change lol. But again. As a mechanic the cabins in the chevys and gms are a glove box removal still. So i guess its not the worst. But it is a weird spot lol.

Condenser and or trans cooler depending on which one you're talking aboutG

smaller one is and aftermarket power steering cooler larger one is a upgraded transmission cooler

I pulled it apart last month to see if i needs to be changed after 1 year of use. Still in good shape. But i think the manufacture recommends new filters yearly

How about rain and snow? Wouldn't this be blocking drainage?

Its designed to keep water out of the filter air but still allow it to drain out the window wiper cavity… so it doesn’t block all the drainage, just the drain on 1 side

Why couldn't you just put filter media over the existing hole you are blocking off? Too simple I guess.

this filter frame provides a standard size you can swap out. Unless im not understanding your approach...

​@@BeyondTheRaptor He's basically saying taking filter foam or similar filter media to put where you put the seal holes. So instead of blocking any flow you're just filtering all the flow angles.
