Why would you need a pump on this? Couldn't it just gravity feed into your main tank and let the main tank pump it? Back when I was driving semi's, the tanks simply connected by a steel fuel line and the primary tank would pump it while the secondary tank was just gravity feed.. At least that is how I understood it to work..

you could but if the tank already has a pump that is included with the tank there is no need. trust me, I plan on plumbing mine straight to my tank.

From what I understand - you can not gravity feed gasoline. Just diesel.

Where is that tank grounded? Your truck is on rubber tires, so the truck isn't grounded. It has to be grounded somehow or else you will get a static charge buildup when you transfer fuel to something. So, how do you dissipate potential discharge from the fuel you are transferring? Thanks in advance.

You could either put static dissipator on your vehicle, they only cost about 10 or $20. If you wanted to get real serious about it you could just take a small wire attached to a little stake and put it in the ground real quick. To be honest with diesel we never messed with that when refueling equipment in the field as we were getting in and out of the vehicle constantly probably dissipated the electrical charge through our bodies plus it's diesel. That being said when I used to fuel airplanes yes we hook them up to a grounding cable every time even with heavy jet A fuel
