I don't know if this is highly edited, but I am having the hardest time putting the tank on the back! The bolts don't seem to clear the holes to thread the nuts onto the bolts and seat properly. Just rocks like crazy.

Hi pdog. The only thing edited out of this video is just parts where something was redundant, like tightening a bolt. It sounds like you are not pushing the bolt hard enough through the top of the tank in order to have at least one or two threads showing so that the bolt could catch on. You will need to put one hand in the tank and press down on the bolt so that it smashes the rubber gasket enough to have the bolt thread show through the bottom of the tank. Once you do that, the threads will grab and you can tighten the bolts right up👍

@@kit10 Hi. Thank you for watching the video. The tank is not the easiest to install, but it is the correct one. You need to push the tank down while you install the bolts and the nuts or they won't fit together. It's probably the hardest part of the install. Thanks again for leaving a comment. Always appreciated 👍

You are still missing a key piece of information on this install. The tank to toilet seat connection should have a tolerance. It is not on the instructions. New standard toilets. Tell you porcelain porcelain connection. A little bit more of a detailed explanation would be much appreciated other than just tightening them up to a consistency?

it is a toilet tank...no need to fancy English also you should flush the valve by removing the red cap (no brainer) also it is best to flush toilet by pouring some water in the bowel before you caulk around it to check for water leaks also you should wait for caulk to dry before you install the water tank also you turn water shut-off valve slowly so you do not damage any rubber seals/washers inside the flush valve many alsos learn first then upload

@YouCanDoIt2
@YouCanDoIt2 Жыл бұрын
Hi! The toilet water level is set right where the overflow basket top level is. Once the water reaches the top of that center black overflow basket, the float stops and the water stops running. This is a high efficiency low volume toilet. You will have a nice flush with not much more than a gallon of water. The reason the water appears low is because the tank is still a standard size tank so it doesn't look strange when you look at the entire unit. However, less water is needed because of the new improved flushing system. That is why it appears that only about 2/3 of the tank is full. Hope this information helps 👍

Hi. Thanks for watching the video. At 1:35 on the video, I show putting the bolts into the drain flange. Sorry, I wasn't too detailed in that. There are two slots on the flange. One on the left and one on the right. You put the bolts (flat head facing down) into those and slide them forward. When you dry fit the toilet over the flange you can easily adjust the bolts forward or backward to fit them up into the holes on the toilet. I hope that helps clarify that a bit for you 👍. Thank you for watching. Always appreciated!

Not too sure. But, what I would say is that this was one of their top models. We did get it from Lowe's...not Home Depot. However, if it's not that model I would still say this could flush a golf ball down the toilet. It is very powerful and we are super happy with it! Looks really good with the upgraded oil rubbed bronze toilet flusher as well. Thank you so much for commenting they are always appreciated.

I just got this Cimarron/360 home and unpacked it. I don't see that round flange or whatever you call it, that is shown in the floor. Seems like it would keep the T-bolts in place. Maybe it will be in the floor when I remove the old toilet? Also, I promise that you can crack the tank or bowl by over-tightening. How do I know that?........3 guesses!!!!

How was it installing the 3 bolts? I’m having difficulty installing these to where they seem flush.
@YouCanDoIt2
@YouCanDoIt2 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Christian. This part is a bit tricky. You need to push the tank down while you thread one of the nuts on the bolt and then work your way to the second one doing the same thing. Put your hand inside the tank and push the tank and bolt down while you have your other hand and nut underneath the outside screwing the bolt on. After the third one is in you will just go around to all three bolts and push the tank down as you slowly tighten each nut to the bolt until the tank is snug and level both front to back and side to side. The rubber flange is very thick and needs to be squeezed down in order for the bolts and nut to make contact with each other. I hope this information helps with your project 👍

Thxs for this demo. When installing on a tiled floor, if the flange is below the tile, what's the best way to seal?? The wax ring provided is to small to fit and I bought another thicker one, and it still leaks. Is there a plumber recommended wax ring or other solution? Also, my Kohler tank has 2 bolts that are attached to bottom of tank, not from inside, and it continues to wobble cause can't get enough tighten down. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Hi Sue. Thank you for watching the video. And, yes! There is a wax ring kit out there that works for every type of flange application. The brand is called Danco. You can pick it up at home depot. It has several different parts to it for flanges that are too low in the subfloor and flanges that are too high out of the subfloor. If you buy this kit you will be able to seal up your toilet. Here is a link for you. I have used these before for the exact application you are talking about and they work perfectly: www.homedepot.com/p/DANCO-Perfect-Seal-Toilet-Wax-Ring-with-Bolts-10826X/206393853

@YouCanDoIt2
@YouCanDoIt2 Жыл бұрын
@@spielman20 you're welcome! As far as the bolts go, it's kind of a two-person job unless you have long arms. Someone needs to be pushing down the bolts from inside the tank while the other person is under the tank tightening them. Those bolts are a specific length for a reason so that it forces you to really attach the tank to the bowl. There is a rubber gasket in between that prevents over tightening. However, you still do need to be careful not to over tighten and crack the tank or your bowl. If you have long arms you can do this yourself, otherwise you will need some assistance with pushing those bolts down in order to thread and tighten them properly.

@@gwengold1342 Thank you for the visual description now I think I understand what you're asking. Grout under the toilet is usually only used for leveling an uneven toilet. 5:49 "So, the plastic base goes on first, then the washer, and then the bolt." No, that isn't correct, but I do believe that nearly everyone here should be able to figure that out, or already knew it so well, that they largely ignored what you were saying specifically. However, I wonder how much confusion this might cause for those new, ambitious DIYers who have been convinced that they could do this, for it is much easier than it seems. Well, just so long as they don't get tripped up by the bad instructions, and they manage to circumvent the potential confusion. Yet, such a simple mistake that many will see as no big deal because of our own biases, and our inability to place ourselves in the shoes of the ignorant, yet ambitious, may be the final straw with them ever trying to save a little money by doing their own home repair or maintenance. So, with the nature of such instructional videos, we must be certain that within we are meaning exactly what we say, and not saying what we mean!

@ThinkerOnTheBus
@ThinkerOnTheBus Жыл бұрын
Yes, the wax ring that was included with my new Kohler toilet did contain the necessary hardware: flange bolts, retainer washers, base washers, nuts, and bolt cover caps. However, I was still missing hardware! I had everything needed to install the bowl to the flange, and the seat to the bowl, yet there was absolutely nothing to attach the tank to the bowl besides the rubber gasket, and bolts that were already in place at the bottom of the tank. I had no washers, and no nuts for the tank. It never ceases to completely bewilder me how such a large, successful corporation can make such mistakes! Such a simple oversight that could have been easily avoided had some employee been performing their job as expected, or in other words, as they are paid to do. There are far too many similar examples of people who simply earn too much money, getting paid for a job which they do not perform fully or correctly. Missing a few bolts may be a minor incident in the overall scheme of things, but it is still a inconvenient hassle for the customer who has paid a substantial sum of money for a product which should have all the advertised parts included as the packaging states it does! It is such a simple mistake, that there really isn't any excuse for it to occur, let alone occur at the frequency which it does! Missing parts? Now, my toilet installation is delayed by however long it takes for me to remedy the issue through the store, or the manufacturer. What if that was the only toilet I have in my abode??? I will likely have to waste more time to return to the store to acquire the pieces which should have been inside of the UNOPENED box to begin with. However, because of some employee who earns more money than they should, I have to waste more of my money by using more gas to drive to and from the store yet again; my vehicle will endure twice the wear and tear upon it than what should have occurred from the acquisition of this product; I will waste more of my time to acquire the necessary parts that I should already have in my possession, precious time which I could have spent earning money instead of wasting time, for time is money; and the stress I will experience will tax my physical, and mental health by dealing with the unnecessary consequences of some employee who is being paid too much money! It's not as difficult to ensure everything is included in the box as it is for some employee at McDonald's to fulfill your order promptly, and with accuracy. Regardless, even McDonald's employees seem to fail at performing their jobs at such a high rate of frequency that I believe they fail more often than they actually manage to succeed when it comes to fulfilling a customer's order correctly. They have at minimum two screens informing them what should be in the order, one at the food preparation area, and one near the cash registers, or the drive-thru window. However, they persistently fail to get the right items in the order. Then, if you have requested any condiments, especially the dipping sauce variety, the rate of failure seems to skyrocket! Constantly, without fail, I receive Honey Mustard instead of Hot Mustard! I am forced to check over my order, pulling everything out to ensure that all items are there, and then even inspecting the food to make sure it was prepared as requested . . . for special orders because they are being prepared differently than what is standard, and there are far too many auto-pilots flying around the McDonald's airspace ("special orders don't upset us", but they often do upset the customers), in addition to making sure that the non-special orders are prepared as they are supposed to be . . . because sometimes my cheeseburger may have no cheese upon it, regardless that my receipt clearly reads "cheeseburger", meaning their order screens also read "cheeseburger", not to mention that I specifically paid extra for that cheese! I can't blame the patrons behind me in the drive-thru who grow impatient, and even resort to honking at me sometimes, but I have been left with no choice. If it were just me, I would simply boycott any restaurant that is incompetent at fulfilling their customers orders correctly, which is the one thing that McDonald's employees apparently excel at achieving! Nevertheless, I have a girlfriend, and she has a young daughter, and sometimes she requests that I go acquire food at said establishment because she is often preoccupied, typically with work. So, to maintain the peace, off I go to appease everyone, and I shuffle down to that little Irish restaurant to receive another annoying dose of awful customer service. I mean, come on!!!! These clowns who don't even really want to be working there in the first place, and who are being paid more money than what they would actually earn, but now, they are getting paid $15 per hour!!! They should be rocking that job, but if anything, their performance has only appeared to have declined. There are far too many "workers" in this economy who are being paid far too much money for their "work"!

Can you explain how Taco bell fails a bit less at their windows since they have 3 screens and i also heard they use Kohler toilets. Not sure why a fancy steak house like Ruths Chris uses Kohler toilets as does McDonald's. But I agree that inflation is partly to blame as to why there is missing hardware like nuts or bolts and Delta airlines decided theyre no longer serving meals on long flights. I do like Cedar Point though I say its way more unqiue than six flags!
