Install Mautic 4 on Ubuntu 18.04 (via ssh)

Hi Joey. My 18 try and 3 days installing and deleting the server for Mautic 4.0 to install it correctly and almost all is perfect now (checked most things), but I discovered that when I run the Certbot line, the system goes crazy with the sub-domains and main domain. Maybe the Certbot thing has changed or something ..... Also, in desperation I tried to install Mautic through Cyberpanel, but was a mess and also they put an old version of Mautic, so I discarded that option.

Cyberpanel is pretty much a mess if you want anything to work correctly.

Hello, there can be many reasons why your campaign actions are not firing. 1. Your cronjobs not working. Here is how you set them up: joeykeller.com/this-new-app-figures-out-your-cronjobs/ 2. Your emails are not properly configured. The campaign action is triggered, but the email sending itself fails. What smtp are you using? Can you send a test email? 3. You are using email queue, and a cron command is missing. Check this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHvGlqFsjamoe8U 4. Your contact are not getting emails due to frequency settings. Hello Jozsef, when i the site after all the installation i get this APACHE UBUNTU DEFAULT PAGE. i have being trying this many times but... nothing. Any clue?

Hello Andrew, that happens if your apache config is not pointing to the mautic folder. Did you specify the mautic folder in your apache config? If yes, did you restart apache to activate the new settings?

@@keeponautomating thanks for answering. The solution was disable default configuration and restart apache... a2dissite 000-default.conf / i dont know if thats a Digital Ocean problem. But fixed

I get this error when going to /installer page: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 7.4.0".

@@amel4633 Mautic is really bad for bulk emails, you have better luck using Sendy or Mailwizz. Mautic excels if you want to do smart marketing, personalized content, page tracking, workflows, campaigns, omichannel marketing, dynamic content. I'm not sure what virtualmin is doing for you, I suggest always to use command line. And yes, you can have Mautic + something else on the same server in another folder if this is what you are asking.

Thank you for a great beginner tutorial! I installed using Nginx because I find Nginx to be kinder to the hardware ;) Is Mautic 4 compatible with PHP 8? I know Mautic can require a lot of system resources as the mailing list grows. I wander if PHP 8 would be beneficial.

Hello, Mautic 4.0.0 is not compatible with php 8.0 as of today. I tried to install it but some dependencies were not compatible in the vendor folder. With Mautic not the size of the list but the size of the pageviews table and the segments can be a huge burden for the database. It is a scaling question. If you modify your db / php settings you can optimise.

Basically everything works you just have to downgrade PHP from 8.1 (i installed yesterday) Now i just got to reopen my amazon ses account so i can send 60k emails a day free (some how a russian hacked it and ive been securing everything for past week) im self hosting everything now with max security

@@zodyking4737 hi, yeah Mautic is php 7.4 right now as stated in this tutorial. Amazon ses won’t give you free email, daily 50k will cost you 5 dollars per day. However plz keep in mind: you need to control your reputation don’t fall for those sharlatans who claim you can send 60k/day with ses using scraped lists… build your lists organically. Dont be a spammer.
