this is useful because i have a mini tower from state surplus, and i use my dvd rw drive and the two hdds, but i only have 3 sata connectors on the board, very very useful edit: i forgot to mention i have a 4tb hdd lying around

Thank tou Very much,It worked,but... In my tests in a Dell optiplex 3050 It worked only on Windows. It didn't work in bios. I can't boot the SATA device (HDD, SSD) connected to this card. Is there any way to configure it in BIOS?

Thank you sir, for sharing your knowledge. Perhaps you might advise me on a similar sata expansion card that I am having a problem with? It is manufactured by ASMEDIA (ASM1064/116x). It has worked (offf and on) with the drives that are hooked up to it. The problem it has ALWAYS presented is a very long delay when it tries to identify my drives that are hooked to it. Usually it takes at least 15 minutes. Is there anything I should do with my motherboard's bios settings? Thank you!

I would assume not as a 1x pcie slot can be anywhere from 1 - 3 gb/s compared to direct SATAs 6gb/s
