I agree with Cleveland, it's great to see Logan involved. I wish had the opportunity to start welding at Logan's age, but instead I'm still grinding at Jeff's. Great video Gang, Thanks!

I always follow a golden rule. A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t! Awesome progress finally getting those toe boards welded in!

Another step closer. Glad to see the next generation getting into the act. If Logan wants more welding practice I have some toe boards and floorpans that need to be welding into my Stang.

Cool little story: I told Logan that he needed to finish up the welding after we got done late Sunday. He responded with a "yeah." I left him alone about it to see what he'd do. The next evening after he got home from work (outside stuff; hot and tiring) I heard the MIG running. Made me a proud stepdad. If he goes out and does that unasked and after a long day of work...he's into it.

@@AutoRestoMod That is great to hear. At my house, all I hear is I really want that car when you are gone. But when I ask for help, suddenly they all disappear.

Nice job! Welding is always tough. How long is the power cord to the wall etc... Do you best. Try welding at an angle and closer to the job. I know it's tough. Straight on welding is hard to see your work. My first weldings was horrible. My last welding, not so horrible. :-) Great video as always!

As Jonathan says you don’t have to be a good welder if you’re a good grinder!

I found drilling the hole larger works out better as well. Actually figured it out by accident. I “thought” that they were to big when I did the first panel. I drilled them even bigger when I installed the other side. It’s been 5 years since I did that job, my buddy was talking about driving the ole Stang around on Father’s Day, so I must’ve done something right. I can’t wait until I can start on my 64 Merc comet.

Sounds and looks like you need a little more heat and/or less wire for those spots welds. Would be worth mentioning for those that don't know that grinding galvanizing creates toxic dust and also welding to anything galvanized creates real ugly week welds. Love the shows and keep em coming!!

@@AutoRestoMod Thank you. I did, the passenger side; it was easier and looks better than the driver's side; just because I followed the process you followed (I did the driver's side the day before you started with the toe boards).
