I install a Kurt Power Draw Bar on my knee mill, Bridgeport clone. This is a used pneumatic power draw bar, so some mods to the mounting have to be made.

I feel Pissed . all I have is One screw driver One drill , One hammer , One haxSaw , And I see people with huge shops, Now I have made One milling , using wood and aluminum some breakout boards , converted it to CNC , it runs OK , but now it is even bigger a reason to be more pissed . I do not know machining and to run a mill You need to know how it runs , and I see you guys doing it . Well one day I will learn watching you. Good work Randy I am impressed .

I am not upset Randy , I am impressed , and you are So intuitive , Just a Role model, I want to have a shop full of machine tools, made my 3 axis Linux mill just a day ago, (Just a prototype, WOOD ALUMINUM STEEL NEEMAS AND MACH3 am taking lessons from ( jerry) Ask jerry in Houston TX almost 5000 miles away , and Am almost close to Linux Mill, It is so funny .I assembled the mill , but then I did not knew how to run, Then I started learning auto desk , and now I can DO_Little. Randy, I received the dovetail cutter you made for me. It is outstanding, the finish on the tool is excellent and it works a treat. I especially like that you printed our company name on the shank. I went back to an older video of yours where you show the use of the cutter. The finish on my cuts are just as good as you show in that video and my mill is a Jet and not as big and stout as yours is, and the finish the cutter produces is still perfect. Thank you for this video and for making the cutter for me, the cost is more than worth it. :-)

The scribes and dovetail cutters are true quality items, you will not be disappointed. - You are so right, not everything needs a carbide cutter. - You've got that lathe trained to provide chips on que! lol - Nicely sharpened large drill bit. - Did you try another R8 collet? - A very useful tool. Nice installation.

Framed 100%. Skinned 50%. Just a guess, it will be dried-in this week. The guys I hired know what they are doing, and don't sit around talking about it! As you know, finishing living quarters takes time, but we have hopes of actually being in there before the Bash '18 starts.

Hi Randy, I must get around to fitting my Kurt power drawbar. It came without the control valve, but a couple of solenoid valves will do the trick. I can't complain for £0.99 +postage off ebay! Are you sure that Bokum bar isn't a 55 degree internal threading tool?.

Why does that air tool (assumed butterfly impact) always hammering from start to finish? All the air impact tools I own only impact if there's a lot of resistance. Otherwise, it just rotate

Randy Richard In The Shop i also have a Bridgeport clone, the step pulley spins different speeds than the spindle. With the new drawbar puller, and that raised platform over the backgear ring, what if you install the sensor over the inner collar closest to the drawbar (spins the same speed as the spindle), and set the magnet in the collar? Do you have variable speed set up?

I have the sensor setup for the spindle measurement but I have the readout mounted in the same box as the VFD. I get interference with the readout, I need to move it away from the VFD in a separate box. Thanks.

Time to build one, this design is very simple.

I did some looking and it appears I could make a Tormach "style" one for far less than they charge but I need to source and find specs on the bellville washers they use. Supposedly they undersized them so the drawbar tension is FAR less than that of a traditional drawbar. On the other hand, supposedly the square shank on the stock drawbar doesn't handle air ratchet abuse very well so I would need to do something similar to what you did with the 2 piece drawbar if I wanted to go that route.
