Install Prowlarr using Docker in a Synology NAS

This whole series was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for putting this together in order an making it so easy to follow. Donated! My two biggest problems during this process were: Getting tap/tun access (which you addressed in the extra video, changing the privileges to high) . And then I had some permissions errors on my media library folder which took some time to resolve.

So adding a download client to prowlarr, won't then push/sync it to the other apps like Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr? You need to set them up individually?

Prowalarr syncs all the indexers that you specify to the other applications. You just configure a connection between Prowlarr and the other arrs. If the indexer is relevant to that type of content, it will sync.

Question: I have qbittorrent set to go through a proxy. So do I need all the “arr” apps to go to the proxy, as well?

No, the proxy is only for the torrents. However, most proxies don’t encrypt the traffic. VPN is better.

I get an error "Unable to complete application test, cannot connect to Sonarr. Host is unreachable" when trying to connect to Sonarr and Radarr I definitely have the IP and API keys copied over correctly.

Thank you for all the great videos. They have been a great help! I have a question. Have you had any problems with the newer versions of the nas and 1337x.to on Prowlarr? Whether I use flaresolverr or not I get the following error: Unable to connect to indexer, indexer's server is unavailable. Try again later. Http request timed out. This happens, even though it is up. Disabling certificate validation and activating my vpn connection doesn't do the trick either. (with a vpn connection it results in the following error: Unable to connect to indexer, please check your DNS settings and ensure IPv6 is working or disabled. The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception.) Do you have any tips to solve this problem?

Using Flaresolverr, it works fine for me. I uploaded a video on Flaresolverr recently. The pinned comment is how to setup the tags for it to work properly if it shows as disabled.

I'm wondering... My qBittorrent doesn't erase the downloaded movies/episodes. Do I have to set up something? I've activated in qBittorent settings to "Pause" when ratio reaches 1 and time reaches 1440min, but when it reaches any target, it never removes the files. What I'm doing wrong? Thx!!

Hi @shamouna! It is a known issue with the arrs and QBitTorrent currently. If you enable anything to control the removal of the torrents in QBitTorrent, the arrs will not be able to clear the torrents. So, you cannot select any of the options in QBitTorrent > Settings > BitTorrent > Seeding Limits. That's why you select the option that says: "Remove Completed" for your arrs. Even then, sometimes it just doesn't work and you have to come into QBitTorrent and manually delete the torrent and data from it yourself. forums.sonarr.tv/t/qbittorrent-and-torrents-not-being-removed-deleted/19988/10 Hope it helps.

Hey im running into an issue where it says my API key is invalid for sonarr, even though im copying it directly over, any ideas why that might be?

Are you using the correct port? You might be trying to connect the wrong App and that's why it tells you that.

@@GroggyGuava If you are connecting Sonnar, you should use the Sonnarr IP, Port, and API Key.

@@techbytetips the sonar server field doesn't give me errors (it just did when I tried the other port for sonarr) only the API field so I'm pretty sure I have the IP & port right, and I'm just copying and pasted the API, it also fails in lidarr & radar. Thanks for the help btw 🙏🏼

Hi, after installing Adguard, I can't have access to my indexer in prowlar. What I need to do. Everything is installed in a container.

I'm not sure why that would happen. You are hosting locally, it should be accessible unless Adguard is blocking it. I am not familiar with Adguard, so, hard to say.

I get timeout when downloading Prowlarr image in Docker registry, is it possible to download file outside Synology somehow?

Yes, you can SSH into the NAS and run the docker commands directly to do the push. It is weird that it is failing for you though.

I recommend you to get a private indexer. They are very reliable and really worth the fees.
