I deleted it for Deadpool it told me to place a file named the same thing with ID and wouldn't launch with the file removed but has two Deadpools

If your installation doesn't start with any reason, logout from desktop and proper steam will start, then start setup, happens to me with Sifu game setup, if it helps you're welcome :)

Some games perform better here, some on Lutris. I generally test in Lutris first cuz it's easier to clean up incase it doesn't work.

Btw if you wanna play with your steam deck controls and they don’t work, i just figured out that disabling steam input doesn’t work, so just use a community layout for you steam deck called “quacked spiderman”, after using it you should able to use steam deck controls through touchpads and then buttons.

1. Run Desktop mode 2. Close Steam completely, so no icon should be listed on task bar 3. Open Konsole from Start menu - System 4. Type "steam -oldbigpicture" without quotes then hit Enter on keyboard 5. Steam will start and this time you can use old Big Picture mode and complete tutorial from topic to disable Steam Input Enjoy ;).

If a game relies heavily on shared shader cache (e.g. Elden Ring) it will have a big difference. Otherwise, it will mostly perform the same. Sometimes even better than retail due to removal of DRM.

The only thing I can think of, is ask for someone elses shader cache and put it on your Deck. That someone should've completed the game and travelled to all parts of the game.

Nope i dont think elden ring has big impact on shader retail or non, but games like tales, gow, horizon, scarlet, many other heavy on shader the difference retail is big

Try running it through lutris. If it still redirects you, your crack is broken and you need to redownload/reinstall.

When you get to the open world part of the game most things exposed to light get very weird big bright red outlines (if you continue playing sometimes they become blue or yellow as well ). Possible reason for Failed to initialized steam is corrupted crack files, the game is looking for Steam when it shouldn't because it's supposed to be cracked.

If you downloaded from dodi there’s a folder inside backups named Goldberg, you need to copy the files out that folder into the main game folder, overwrite any duplicate files, I had the same problem
