My asset_archive folder isn’t showing up when I activate terminal, it shows It’s there when I go check in dolphin, but doesn’t pop up when I activated terminal.

I tried your way but it doesn't work on my Steam Deck, it gives me error each time i launch it. Anyway i was able to add mod from a pc running windows and then copying the assets folder in my steam deck. Probably the best way if you have a pc with windows.

Okay so everything worked until i added the suit adder it just says that it encountered a problem and needs to close

It sucks there isn't a more reliable method. I can't even get Bottles to register the suit adding tool, try as I might. It just keeps insisting that there is no such directory, despite it being right there in my game's root folder. Guess I'll just have to wait for some hero to convert the tool for Steam Deck like BCML for Zelda... Edit: It's a good thing I'm stubborn, because I found out all I needed to do was give Flatseal permission to the bottles symlink folder. I don't think that's mentioned here, or in the reddit tutorial, strangely enough.

@@lonelyoni8978 the only way that actually works for me is to mod the game normally on another pc that has Windows, then just syncthing, and just transfer the files to your steam deck and then replace the asset files with the modded ones

Sadly I can't do that all I want to add is savage shadow land and a few other suits. I wish the creator of the mod would make a Linux version though

Think you could do one for miles morales? If that game is possible to mod, im an offline gamer so whenever i get the chance to use mods in a game i take every chance. That being said, please make a vid for miles morales if possibility if achievable

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. I have a problem in the last step when you run the "suit adding" program from "bottles" the exe shows me a screen to choose a folder where it asks me to choose the folder with the "asset" files. I can't find the route to the "asset archives" folder and I didn't see you get to this step.

Yes the “asset archives” path will be where you made the SpiderMan shortcut in the /home/deck/Games/SpiderMan/asset_archive directory.

@@TheCochinilloFeroz Yeah you seem to be missing one. There should be a drive named "/" under Trash where you could then go to /home/deck/Games/Spiderman. Open Flatseal up again and click bottles in the sidebar. Scroll down to Filesystem. Make sure that "All User files is checked". If your game is on an SD Card, you will also need to add "/run/media/mmcblk0p1" under Other files. Then re-open bottles and see if it appears to select

Tried multiple times via my sd card but instructions aren’t clear enough to figure out the differences between running it on there versus the SSD

The video only shows the instructions for the SSD, as that’s where I have my game installed. The link in the description has information regarding additional steps for SD card.

Is this easy to do? Is there a big chance this will mess up my steam deck? Really wanna do the new suits to slots tool but I didn’t know that was capable on the deck.

It’s pretty easy to do, the video goes through most of the steps. In the description there is a Link to a Reddit post with more detailed information. I wouldn’t really see any risk of messing up your steam deck as long as you don’t start deleting whole directories or files while setting things up.

ok, I fixed it by installing the dependencies through bottles itself. the dependencies are: vcredist2019 and dotnetcoredesktop6

Two options, you can either create an InstalledSuits folder in the directory and place the files there. Or click the three dots on the application and manually specify a .suit file in the launch arguments which will satisfy the drag and drop requirement. I find it easier to just place them all in InstalledSuits and let it install them all each time

I did everything towards the beginning, but when I try to add the .exe files, they’re not in my downloads for some reason even though they’re there.

Sounds like bottles can’t see the downloads folder. Did you check that under flatseal you granted access to All User Files?

@@EricTurner31 Yes, from the start all user files was enabled in flatseal yet the two exes don’t show up.

@@arkham9289 not sure. Try moving the exes to another directory then try adding them into bottles. Maybe the permissions on the downloads folder are incorrect.

@@EricTurner31 when you did it the first time because i notice you have the files twice, is there anything different you did on steam deck setting any things in discovery you have downloaded that maybe some doesn’t who just got the deck? maybe it’s something there i’m missing

To be fair, it took me like 4 hours to get it working and I had to try a bunch of stuff to get the exes working correctly. But most of my issues came from the suit adder exe, I don’t recall having any issues with the dependencies installing

okay i got the other programs to execute only issue is when i go to make a new directory, it won’t let me open the copied file of spider-man. do you have a program for that?

IMPORTANT HELP FOR NOT LAUNCHING ADDER TOOL! everyones giving the same comment. Adder not launching. A couple things here to help. * make sure when you add the tool, you use the new linknto the folder and not the long one. Bottle doesnt like the ' in marvel's. So home/deck/games/(whatever you named the link, no special characters) *in bottles scroll to dependencies. Install mono *click the 3 dots nextnto the adder. Click the little picture of the window screen on the top left. *should come up with a wondow woth files. Use linknfolder you made againnto select asset_archives. Open. Thennpuck your language in terminal. Be patient it takes a while after hitting enter. Your done. Hope this helps. I wish i had time to go to every comment

@@lonelyoni8978 did you make the shortcut for the games folder? I found that if you skip that step, the apostrophe in Marvel’s can cause issues with bottles and it won’t work. I usually do one word, no spaces like SM or SpiderMan for the shortcut. If you did that, delete the assetArchiveDir.txt file in the root of your game folder and try to run the exe in bottles again to recreate it using the shortcut
