Good video. I have an old RX, too, and I do not like that Lexus didn't add separate climate switches, or at least just a separate fan control so I don't have to go back on the screen to change the fan speed.
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes Lexus had plenty of room for improvement on these older models, having to back into the screens to adjust the fan is surely one of them. The other thing I hate is the TPMS tire sensors and how you can't view the individual tire data in the dash when other cars and manufacturers of my model year had this technology and more.

@@KeithBlade Personally, I wish TPMS didn't even exist! If you don't already have Toyota's Techstream software, I highly recommend it. It can be tricky setting up and finding a Mini-VCI OBD connector that actually works, but it's worth it.

is crazy but the part i didn't like is the part you said there's no difference with your regular radio in sound and that's the only reason I wanted is in my other car( came with the car in the factory car radio) the XM sounds amazing so I probably better getting the box for the car?
@KeithBlade2 жыл бұрын
The real issue is how good is your stereo now? Adding XM is like adding a new radio station, it doesn't upgrade or downgrade the current quality (except that XM is highly compressed). Lexus and Toyota aren't known for great stereos, at least not compared to aftermarket installs. If your stock radio is "just okay" like mine is, installing this is going to sound similar to how your FM radio sounds. For what the stock radio is it sounds good enough, my wife loves it. My newer Acura has a far better stock system and if I activate Sirius XM its going to sound better than my Lexus for sure . That's because it has better speakers and amps. That's the real issue, how good is your current system? So installing this XM module is going to sound similar to how your system is now with the radio. (But not like HD radio)

I added XM with there kit but had to find a station that wasn’t being used in order to have XM well that worked good until I was traveling and then I had to find another station that wasn’t being used this went on all the way across the country when I was traveling, is there a way around this where I can just leave it on one station and forget it ? Thanks for the video
@KeithBlade2 жыл бұрын
Hi, the kit I have in my Lexus doesn't work that way. It has it's own dedicated channel for Satellite Radio so you never ever have to switch it, all the channels they offer stream in through that one dedicated channel in the system and it is not affected by where you drive and never fades in or out. It sounds like you got some kind of FM modulator that streams through an unused FM station, that is older technology and works well but you probably would only need that if your stock headunit does not have a dedicated Sat Radio connection.

How did you activate your XM account in the first place without a radio code? Or how did you get the code?
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
I've had XM for years so it was simply transfering it over to my next vehicle by calling them. then they activate the radio.
@ATMHXD3 жыл бұрын
The code is on the box and the back of SCC1 tuner. It's the SID code.

How did you hook up the antenna?
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
Antenna is on the roof right where the hatch meets the roof and is a magnetic mount. I put a shark fin over it, looks great.

I heard people call it the module or the tuner. But what I was describing in the first link, I think you know what I was talking about.

Actually I've never heard of that particular unit that is why I was asking. Sirius XM Listener Care should know what connections are needed if you call them

Will you recommend a video on how to actually install? I purchased the products you suggested for my 2009 RX350.

Do you have any stereo install experience?
@tammiblountbrown48583 жыл бұрын
@@KeithBlade No, I do not but was planning on having my husband, brother in law or dad do this for me. they have installed car stereos before.
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
@@tammiblountbrown4858 It's pretty easy if they have stereo experience. The hardest part is running the magnetic antenna that you buy from Sirius XM, or Best Buy or Amazon. I mount mine on the roof of the Lexus but you have to carefully run the antenna wire. I mounted mine without any drilling of holes. It's not hard, just time consuming. If they've run speaker wire before they'll know what to do and there might be videos about installing the antenna.

I have a jvc sirius module in an old car. The module is grandfathered in with no subscription nor monthly fees ever. My question is can I connect the jvc module to a newer car, a 2022 nissan sentra and keep the factory stereo that is sat. ready? Would there be some kind of adapter or interface that might help accomplish this? Thanks any feedback appreciated.
@KeithBlade2 жыл бұрын
I am familiar with JVC and have had their headunits in the past, but I do not know what a JVC Sirius module is.

I can't seem to find the radio code, I've tried everything. I get most channels, but I don't get ch100, 101. Do you get ch 100?
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
Some packages (and some tuners) can eliminate certain channels. One time I could not get NFL station in my car but I could on my android app. Calling Sirius is the best option here.

Does your car have an XM antenna on the roof? My ‘07 IS does, but I just don’t have the actual hardware inside the head unit for XM. So it appears my car is “XM ready”, but doesn’t actually have it installed.
@KeithBlade3 жыл бұрын
I had to install the antenna on the roof and small module behind the headunit. I put a sharkfin over the magnetic antenna and it totally looks stock, you'd never know it was an add-on. Running the antenna wire was the most time consuming part.
@thecarelectronicguy6873 жыл бұрын
@@KeithBlade Interesting, so theoretically this should be a lot easier to install if my car has the antenna from the factory?

@@thecarelectronicguy687 yes. Assuming it is a compatible Sirius XM antenna
