FYI, if you use electrical tape, avoid using black, black tape leaves more glue residue when it gets hot, we only use colored tapes, mostly white or grey.

I can't see this being true. The color of the tape has nothing to do with the adhesive on the tape. Maybe the colored tape doe not have as much glue so it doesn't make a mess? But wouldn't that mean it wouldn't stick as well?

Yes the unit has a dip switch that turns off the Dension Bluetooth for Phone so it does not interfere with the factory unit for calls.

I have the Dension GW502MO2 installed in my meecedes E350 2008 model. Can i use the USB, BT audio and the CDC at the same time? It appears once I'm using the CDC I can use the BT audio or USB though I can receive calls. Please help

To use the CDC you turn off the Dension unit. The radio can only see one CDC at a time and the dension unit is pretending to be a CDC.

Hi there. I have a w211 2005 with comand and original navigation. No CD-shifter. Can not find any aux-in anywhere in the car. I want to be able to stream music via bluetooth, and thus consider to purchase the GW53MO2, but I am not sure if that will work in my car. To be able to use the GW53MO2, is it absolutely necessary to have an original CD-shifter/Cd-changer? If so, and I instead would buy the GW53MO1, is it possible to plug a bluetooth adapter into the aux after mounting that kit? Love the video, keep up the good work!

Since you have no CD changer it would be the GW52MO1. But You must have the full screen command radio for it to work.

Apparently the glue in the colored tapes is a different then on black tape but hey, you don’t have to believe it if you don’t want to, I just thought I share something I learned over the years working on Yachts.

I believe you. But I have to think that the glue used on colored tape caries by manufacturer that is all. Maybe the place you purchase colored tape has less glue. I cant see the same about 3M tape. But I could be wrong.

The car is fiber optic. An AUX for a 1998 that is not Fiber is only $70. The android units bypass the factory amp and you have to run wires to the amp in the trunk. The android adapters that keep the factory amp I have heard have engine noise issues. We have sold complete radio kits to a few people that have taken out the android radios.

Android radios are so hit or miss that we have banned them at our shop because of too many issues. At the end of the day people think that maybe we installed it wrong when they have issues. I have had hissing noises, engine noise, smoke coming out the radio when we plug it in, bad steering wheel controls just to name a few. With that said we have a new kit coming out to install a standard aftermarket radio. Install video is already done and in editing now.

Jokes on me, I can't get the plate around the shifter to go back in just right. It's too far forward, hitting the ashtray lid.

+TheSQDoctor I hope you already got it but you have to make sure the back slides into the 2 holes. Sometimes it needs a light tap. Make sure the car is very warm. Plastic bends when hot and breaks when cold.

+Enfig I did get it back in. The back two holes were not the problem, it was the two prongs toward the front were not clicking into place. I finally got the idea to remove the leather boot around the shifter, then I used my fingers to push those two plastic tabs forward so the plate could lock down behind them. Huge relief when it clicked into place.
