Installation of EAG Safari Doors on Jeep Wrangler JL

Thanks for the video, just put these on my 2014 JKU and couldn't have done it as quickly as I did without your help. :-) Fantastic call on painting the bolt (heads) and washers before installing. Looks much better all black.

An update on the mirror and fitment issue. I talked with and Vicious Offroad. EAG believe the door was manufactured incorrectly/out of spec. Vicious agrees and will be sending a replacement door. Regarding the mirrors - Vicious says there was a batch of mirrors not made correctly. There are waiting to receive the replacement batch to provide to owners who contact them. Overall, customer service has been a 10 out of 10 for both EAG and Vicious. I will certainly give them more business in the future. Update - new passenger rear door received and fits like it should. Thanks again to Vicious Offroad for resolving quickly.

How do the straps attach to rear door?

They attach the same way the stock doors do.

Did the bolts from the jeep hinge screw on to the hinge on the tube door, instruction say to use them, mine do not fit.

Yes they do screw on. I initially had issues with getting them to thread. The trick is to move the tube door slightly so the screw part is centered in the hole in the Jeep hinge so you can get it threaded on. I would first confirm the bolts fit the door when not installed on the Jeep just in case.

UPDATE. great customer service, fast reply from Viscious offroad and EAG, sent me out some bolts, they first thought wrong hinges, very happy with them, they also sent me the free gift hat and light that wasn’t in the box. Recommend them.

swimman66, I purchased the U.S. flag doors from EAG and installed them this weekend. However, I'm having trouble adjusting the door locks so they don't rattle. Is there any suggestions you can provide that may help to keep them from rattling. Also, can you provide a good telephone number for EAG? Thanks and jeeps looks great with those doors.

I just made very small adjustments to the lock and finally got it right. Some doors were easier than others but keep trying as you should be able to adjust the two screws to get it just right. Unfortunately, I do not have a phone number for EAG.

I noticed you have your tether straps bracket bolted with the bend towards the bend of the door. Does it matter which way these go because I thought they were dispose to go the other way. I just bought a set and will install them this weekend. Thanks

I think it's just preference as they will fit either way. I did think of installing them the other way but this is how it ended up! My rear doors have the tether straps welded to the door in the orientation I installed the fronts. As well, I think installing them this way provides slightly more swing to the door.

Doors have held up well although they are not on the Jeep the majority of the time. No rattles and latches work as intended. I'm using the Doubletake mirrors and have removed the mirrors that come with the doors. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Do the doors rattle when you drive around?

No rattles. It does take a little time to get them adjusted perfectly, but overall I'm very satisfied.

what did you use for a wedge on the mirror?

I used a piece of a composite shim I got a Lowe's. Cut it to fit and worked perfectly.
